Hey Everyone,

I've been reading through the threads on this board, and can't quite find the answer to my questions...wondering if maybe some of you could help me out...

I am thinking about going back to school this Fall or Spring. I really really want to do the CP! Its always been a dream of mine to work at Disney World, even if it is a low paying, bottom of the totem pole job. Working at Disney World is an experience I want to have at least once in my life. Since doing a Seasonal job down there would mean me having to find my own housing, and buy a car, the CP is my best option to work their temporarily, and possibly make some good connections.

So here are my questions:

1.) Do many Graduate level students do the CP?
2.) Do you have to be working towards a degree? Or could you be taking Continuing-Ed courses to be eligible to do the CP?
3.) I will probably be around 27 or 28 by the time I go down...are there many CPers around that age? Is that normal ?Or am I too old?
4.) What was your biggest complaint and your best experience about the CP? Would you do it again? Did it ruin the 'magic'?

Any feedback would be much ap:goodvibespreciated!

1) I did know a few doing that. The majority aren't, but there are a few who opt to do the CP to gain experience.

2) I honestly do not know. I would email them and ask.

3) I knew people in their 40s doing CPs.

4)Biggest complaint: LOL my schedule tended to be opposite of my roommates. best experience: everything, and that's not an exaggeration. It changed me for the better, helped me grow as a person, become more independent. Im going back this summer, and I still feel magical every time I put my nametag on.

Hope that helps!

1) They somewhat target sophomores and juniors, but grad students can and do participate. I worked with one and knew of others. Not a lot, but they were there.

2) You should check, but I would say "yes" because "Undecided" is an option on their application. I know this isn't exactly the same, but it is close.

3) I feel that the population of the CP reflects the typical population of a college. By far the majority of people are between 18 and 23/24. There are older participants (25-30). Then there are typical non-traditional participants.

4) My biggest complaint, if you can call it a complaint, is that a lot of things are somewhat sugarcoated before you get there. Not exactly "lies", but not exactly straight forward. They have gotten better about it since I was last there, but there are still things that have a major positive spin on them. One example is their page of majors. If you read them, it sounds like doing the program will expose you to all of these other areas in the company. That isn't exactly true. Another is with the way they present both Disneyland's program and Walt Disney World's program as being practically the same. Same name. Same structure. But everything else is completely different.

Ruining the magic? Not so much. The magic is still there. You just see how hard it is to project that magical image. Flat out you will learn it is a business first.

I really believe in the program and feel it could be a lot more than they use it for (staffing). I also think that participants can get a lot out of it if they know going in what they want to come away with and don't waste their time while they are there.

I did go back on a 2nd cp, worked as a campus rep, and also did a professional internship.
