Does anybody pay the bucks for these. Single origin is like Kona, Jamaican Blue Mountain, Kenyan, Guatamalen, etc.. I'm working part time in a specialty coffee shop and I get a considerable disocunt. DH loves coffe, esp. strong coffee and I'd like to pick him something up but I can't decide what. Any suggestions.

Jamaican Blue Mountain is very mellow, while Kona is a bit stronger.

Sumatran and Sulawesi coffee are nice and strong flavored.

sumatran is what I was considering. Jamaican and Kona even with my discount are too much for an everyday coffee for someone like dh who drinks several cups. I would buy the beans to have as a treat or for special occasions, or if we each had one cup in the morning. Our shop roasts their own beans too. I never liked coffee, always too bitter. Since drinking it here I'm becoming converted. No work today and I actually think I missed coffee.

according to surveys at work if you like dark chocolate and red wine you will prefer sumatra as your coffee.

bought the sumatra so we'll see. owner gave me a great deal. Had two people come in today and spend the big bucks for Jamaican Blue Mountain. Both swear it's absolutely worth it.

I bet it's not like $40. per pound where you live though.

Nope it's not that expensive. I would say around twenty something a pound.

seems like if it's grown in your backyard you should be paying alot less then that.

Yeah it should be, but that's how it is. Kona Coffee is at the top and hand picked so it's very pricey. We had made our own once before and is thinking of making another batch. Right now it is coffee season, so it's time to pick the red berries.

We are coffee connoisseurs.

We had Sumatra this morning. We buy Kona from a company in Canada (right now in Phoenix they wanted $55 a pound, we get it for around $25 American buying from Canada, of course tack on the shipping and it's probably close LOL).

We like Jamaica Blue (but expensive!!) MIL brought us some back a couple years ago.

If I had a cheaper way I'd do it. LOL as Kona is one of D's favourites.

I just checked here in town last week at a Gloria Jeans and thats what they quoted to me.
