In November, my parents planned a trip to Disneyworld for next week. Soon there after, my mother found out she has cancer for the third time. She has been in treatment and doing pretty good, and then she was fired two weeks ago from her job of more than 14 years for insurance reasons (of course they won't say that, but I know since I work there also). Is there anyone at Disney that I can contact regarding her situation to see if there is anything special they can do for her? My wife and I convinced her and Dad to still make the trip.

The sky is the limit with Disney magic! What are thinking of doing for her? You can have flowers delivered to your resort room, you can have a special menu printed for her at several restaurants or a special dessert, if you call ahead and explain what's going on sometimes you can get VIP seating for a show or event.
To H**L with the greed of corporate America! Please know your mom is in our thoughts and prayers! I hope she has a magical time and a speedy recovery from her latest fight with cancer!

Not sure yet. I sent an e-mail to Coronado Springs to see if they have some ideas of what we could make happen.

What about taking one of the special fireworks cruises? I think that would be unforgettable!

Are you looking for Disney to do something free? Or you willing to pay for something?

I am willing to pay. Of course if Disney wanted to do something great, but I do not expect anything.

I wouldn't count on them doing anything for free. My grandmother passed away while we were there three years ago and they charged me $6 for the fax of her obituary. So much for Disney Magic! Oh well, going back in Sept. Hoping for something to make up for it. Would be nice to be picked for the Year of a Million Dreams. Nothing big, would be happy for a set of ears.
Good luck. Your family is in our prayers.

How about a carriage ride at POR one night? Of course, you'd have to pay for it, but it's only $35 for 30 min. See if you can get it close to 9pm when Illuminations is going off. Afterwards, they can go and listen to Elliot Dyson at Scat Cats at POFQ if they like Jazz. Maybe even a dinner at Boatwrights before the carriage ride. Then there's always La Nouba too.
