We are getting married in fla next June and taking our blended 5 kids as a surprise to Disney. My side has been several times but not his. Is there anything special that disney does for honeymoons. I never in my wildest dreams thought we would be there for this. So excited!

Tell every Cast Member you run into (nicely, of course!) that it's your honeymoon. You never know what kind of pixie dust they might sprinkle on you. When you make your hotel reservations and dining reservations, let those CM's know as well.

At your hotel or the first theme park you go to, ask if they have "We're Celebrating" or "Happily Ever After" buttons. These are free and they're fun to wear around the parks. When CM's (and sometimes guests) see you wearing them they will wish you well.

Come to think of it, ask for "We're Celebrating" buttons for your kids, too. A CM could write something like "We're a brand new family!" or something like that on them.

Hop over to the Resorts board and the Restaurants board for more specific ideas - and have a wonderful time!

My DD got married at the Seabreeze Pavilion on the Boardwalk. For a few days, they wore the Disney Wedding Ears. Hers was white-with-veil Ears, his was a top hat Ears. They wore the "newlywed"-style buttons, too. They were brought forward in a few ride lines, and got congrats from other visitors. Go to WDW not expecting anything, as there's no guarantees. But you'll receive some recognition here and there. My DD had a special commemorative ornament hand-lettered with their names and wedding date, at the Christmas Store at DTD. I know there's a Christmas Store at MK Liberty Square. Don't know if they do the ornament there, but you could ask.

If you're staying at a Disney resort for your Disney-moon, be sure to mention it when booking. Same goes with booking a Disney restaurant ADR -- be sure to mention your special Disney-moon celebration with your new family. I was from a family of 5 kids. It was great, but everyone had to pitch in. Best Wishes to the new family! We're happy for you all! :grouphug:

How do you get the bride and groom ears? Do we have to get married there?

I think my DD got the ears at The Chapeau on MK Main Street. The article below says the couple got theirs at the MK Emporium, which is across the street. The Chapeau also has all sorts of ear hats (for the kids) that can be embroidered with their names. (The wedding boutique link in the article doesn't work.)

It's hard to describe the wedding ornament, because you can't buy it online. You have to see it and order it at WDW, and you'll spot the place for the hand lettering.

We did a disneymoon and I would second the suggestion of wearing the happily ever after buttons.

We wore ours and got personalized desserts at several restaurants during the week. We also got a couple of snacks given to us "on the house" at a couple of counter service restaurants. The biggest thing we got though was a "private" viewing of wishes on top where the astro orbiter is in Tomorrowland. It was during the Year of a Million Dreams promo and a dream team member came up to us the first night of our trip and asked if we wanted a special treat. We met him back an hour later and he took us and two other families up to the top of the ride to view the fireworks up above all the Tomorrowland crowds.

It was pretty awesome and all because we had the buttons on!

WDW is a magical place to have a honeymoon. We went in with no expectations, and had an amazing time. Let everyone know you are on your honeymoon, and wear buttons, and Mickey/Minnie Bride and Groom hats.

Read no further, that is all you need to know. Go in with an open mind, be friendly, and talk to any CM who engages you in conversation.

We honeymooned in WDW 11 years ago in Oct, and wore Bride and Groom hats every 'first day' we went to a park. (once in MK, Epcot, HS, AK)

We got SO many congrats and well wishes from everyone, and special fantastic 'front of the line' accesses to rides, it was just unexpected and fantastic.

We rode two boat rides privately, Maelsrom, and Pirates, and got 'Bon Voyage' wishes from the CMs and crowds when we left, and cheers when we came back.

We had waitresses and waiters sprinkle confetti on our tables, and provide special desserts and free drinks, nearly at every dinner.

The character interactions were very special, and will never be forgotten.

We got the very BEST waiter at CRT, who got us free champagne glasses, which were delivered by a young child from another table, telling us they were from Cinderella. He was very 'in character' - pompous and very funny!

I've saved the best for last. I've posted about this in various places and it still was the most amazing experience, EVER. We honeymooned in 2003, when the Stars and Cars parade was still around. We went into the park like we had in every other park, and walked up to a sign near the entrance, where the wait times are listed for various rides. While we were reading the sign, a CM asked us about our trip, if we were having fun, congratulated us on our marriage etc. Then she asked us an important question.

"Do you want to be the grand marshals in the parade?" Of course we said yes.
We were treated like celebrities for the day, got several multi-use fast passes good for everything, got front row seating without wait for Beauty and the Beast...We have a Magical Moment certificate and the sign from our Grand Marshals car, with our name on it. There are so many details about what made this amazing and magical, but the reason we got asked? We were on our honeymoon.

Here's one more, but it was not honeymoon related. We only go to WDW every 5 years for our anniversary. (Well, this year is a fluke because my hubby has to go to Orlando for a few days in December and I'm flying down on points, sharing his hotel room, and going to MVMCP - I've never been to WDW during the holiday season!)

During our 5th anniversary trip, we were upgraded to Poly Magic Kingdom View Concierge. (I know. I squeed for 10 minutes when we got to our room...I called my mom and could not even talk to her....I was so excited. We got gifts every day in our room, during that trip - 2008.)

One more disclaimer - please do not expect any of this to happen. We went for our 10th anniversary trip last year, and while it was very fun, we had no 'magical surprises' and after having so much magic to last a lifetime you can imagine the trip did feel a bit different - still amazing and fun, just, different.)

My daughter ordered the bride & groom ears from the Disney Store online for her 2011 wedding. They wore them as they left the reception (here) and also put them on for the trip from the airport to BWV on ME and for the parks and dining. They received many well wishes and some free desserts,

A few non freebies but great things to do on a disney moon are...

Victoria and Alberts while the kids do one of the kids adventures.

Wishes fireworks cruise

romantic carriage rides

i am sure others have a few suggestions too
