I wanted to send a special thank you to GianDomenico at Tutto Italia. During our last visit Nov. 08, my kids (DS 9 & DD 4) and I ate at Tutto Italia. The kids loved the meal and our server (Giandomenico) was very pleasant and friendly with the kids. The special thanks comes on the second visit during that same trip. After a busy 13 day vacation, the kids picked Tutto Italia for their meal before the trip home.
My DD (4) saw the waiter from our first visit across the restaurant. She did not understand why he was not waiting on us. Now at that time neither I nor my DS (9) could recall his name. We were discussing and my DD spoke up and said his name is John.....John Domenico. At least that is what we understood her to say. I did not remember his name being John. But could she be right???
Well, we inquired with our current waiter and sure enough the 4 year old was correct. His name was GianDomenico (sorry if I have that spelling wrong). She was so very proud of herself and the rest of us were very impressed and amazed.
When GianDomenico passed by a short time later he stopped and chatted with us. He remembered us from the previous visit and we explained to him how DD remembered his name. After that first chat he stopped by or waved as he passed by the table. My kids were so excited. Just that little bit of extra attention made them feel special. On his last visit to the table, he wrote a special note to DD on a kids placemat/menu and signed it.
My DD still has this special note and shows everyone whenever we tell the story. To this day if you ask her who her favorite server is at WDW she will reply GIANDOMENICO!!
We will be visiting WDW before and after the SSMC09 in September and guess what restaurant is on the top of their WISH LIST. You guessed it. Tutto Italia!!! I only hope GianDomenico is still working there on our next visit. My DD (now 5) will be so disappointed if he is not.
