Ok.. maybe my title sucks... I wasn't sure what to call it...

I read somewhere about doing some sort of sephora makeover for $30, that includes an actual $30 merchandise certificate that you can use... and it all prior to the store opening to the public each day...
I believe I saw the information as an added, maybe slightly unknown benefit when stayting at the grand californian..

does anyone have a clue what I am rambling about?

I was looking for more specific info again about it, I might want to try this out with my cousin for her b-day...

That was me, I found out about it on a brochure that they gave us when we checked into the GC.:D It was listed along with the GC tours, storytelling, and a few other special experiences.

We did this last month. It was on the daily activity list for the Grand. It was very fun and well worth it. The only draw back is that it is very early...like 8 or 8:30 am. We heard a "spiel" from two different reps from makeup manufacturers, one was pretty boring and the other was a gay guy who was hysterical and gave us some awesome beauty tips (he was a professional makeup artist and had done several celebrities). His company products were European and pretty pricey. I did purchase the "Lip Last" transparent lipstick sealant. It does work. He made us all feel at ease and was very easy to talk to. The group was limited to ten and it sold out early on. I heard others trying to get into the group and told no, it was sold out. They do makeup your entire face, asking you what type of coverage you want and what colors you like. Then they write down every product they used on you and give you the sheet if you wish to purchase any of the items. They served gourmet muffins and pastries (only a couple of people ate them). The one thing piece of advice I would give is to show up without any makeup. They cleanse and treat your skin and if you have any makeup on at all it has to be removed. Also, to have an open mind and have fun! It was also nice to have the store employees to yourself for 20 minutes or so to get honest opinions about what products are popular and what is really "worth it" or truly "works". And they are all very nice and pleasant girls. Bear in mind, this store carries only upscale brands and nothing is cheap. And believe it or not, they are VERY busy during normal business hours. My DD17 and I did it and we spent over $150 by the time it was said and done. But, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone. It was one of the highlights of our trip and they made us feel very special. Enjoy! :bounce:

Great! Thanks again for the info.. couple more questions..

so was $30 to do it and you received a $30 merchandise certificate? Also we are staying at the DLH this time, not GC... do you think we could do it still?? We will be at DL on a monday, which would be a great day to go since the part wont open until 10 am....
