Special Room Request

I booked a trip in November to the Contemporary later this month. In December what looked like minor surgery turned into a more complicated procedure. I am booked in a Garden View king, but now it would be much better to have 2 queen beds, so I am not sharing a bed (my mother, niece, and I are traveling together and we plan to put my niece on the daybed). When I called Disney to change to queens a few weeks ago, I was told there were none available. When I booked my ME, the CM I spoke with was very personable and upbeat. She used to work at the Contemporary and gave me lots of great tips for the hotel. I asked her about my room situation and she gave me a number to call the Monday before our trip to put in my special request. Do any of you have experience with a similar situation, and if so was Disney able to accomodate you?

If that is the number for Special requests (407-939-7807), you better call today, do not waste anytime. I booked our December trip back in August and decided to change resorts and it was suggested to me that I might request a roll-in shower for my mother because of her disabilities, so the CM called that line for me and said the request was in, come to find out 2 days prior to my trip noone ever put in the request. I had talked to several CM's about it on more thn one occassion and it was guaranteed that the request was correct and they even called SR Dept on several of those occassions and told me no problem. Well, we ended up without the correct shower because of this and mom had difficulty each night, so I have made sure for each upcoming trip that it ws correct. I was also called a liar and told that I never made the requests, and I knew I had.

Please DO NOT wait until the Monday before your trip. DO NOT call the regular ressie line either, that is where I went wrong.
