I just have to share about DS's prom, which was last night. It was his first prom. Since we have 2 universities and the community college having graduation this weekend, DS couldn't find dinner reservations anywhere so DH and I fixed up a cozy dining spot for DS and his GF on our back porch. It was a total surprise for GF and she loved it! Pictures of it are below of our "restaurant" complete with menus, candlelight, music, server, and photographer!
DS picked up his GF and her Mom took a bunch of pictures. They then headed to my house for the routine photos. Here is DS and his GF all ready for prom:
Then, they left with her thinking they were headed to a restaurant for dinner:
DS drove around away from our house for about 10 minutes and then told her to shut her eyes so that he could surprise her. Then, he drove back here and led her to the front door where I had this sign on the door:
I, the hostess, greeted them at the door and led them to their private dining spot on the back porch:
DH, their server, served them "wine" (actually sparkling apple juice) and showed them the menu for their dinner.
(if you can read this, ignore the one miss-spelled word! We gave this menu to DS because of that! His GF, had the perfect one!)
At the end of the meal, DH presented DS with the bill!
But, all it said was that since he was such a fantastic son, that the meal was complimentary and that we hoped he'd have a wonderful time at prom and that we loved him.
As a prom gift, I had gotten them Build-A-Bears and dressed them like their outfits. All I knew of GF's dress was that it was gold and I think the match worked pretty well! GF took her bear home and DS kept his bear.
They both really loved the dinner and being alone together to enjoy their special night. Off they then went to the prom where DS said they had a fantastic time.
I'm so happy that I got to be so involved in making their night special. I actually lucked out that they couldn't get a dinner reservation, because DS sure wouldn't have let me do that otherwise!!!

Everything looked wonderful! Save those menus and the bill for the scrapbook!
That's so amazing and adorable and awesome, Stephanie!
