I'm looking to book something for my DH's 40th Birthday, his birthday is on New Years Day and were off to WDW on the 6th Feb, but I'm looking at either booking a weekend or week away just for the 2 of us sometime later in the year. So if any of you have any places you can recommend other than WDW because our DD's would kill us if we went without them :lmao: then I'd be really grateful :goodvibes

what about a weekend city break, London Birmingham or Manchester ?

I would recommend NY for the sites and a good Broadway show :)

Claire ;)

do you want to go abroad or stay in the u.k. ?

Not too sure yet, just looking for the right place?, if I left it to my DH he'd be happy to go to Centre Parcs as he loves it there, but I'm trying to find something different?

Hey Karen were going to center parcs in march:thumbsup2

The west cosat os scotland is truly amazing, very romantic.
Prague, warsaws, montecarlo, lots of place, you have to give us a btter idea of what you are thinking:)

The hilton at aviemore is so nice also, a real fav for us.

I know what your saying, and the thought has crossed my mind about Centre Parcs more than a dozen times as it is a place that holds lots of special memories ;) it's just as it's his 40th and I wanted to do something different!, ok I know we're of to WDW just after his 40th and I'm pretty sure I could arrange someting special whilst we're over there :goodvibes
I'am grateful for all the places that have been mentioned :grouphug:

If he likes centre parcs so much why not try one of the European ones for a change?

I was just going to say that!
We went to Center Parcs in Holland for October half term and loved every minute of it - the staff were much friendlier and laid back - and it was less than half the price, we got lots of fun for our money and can't wait to try another.
You can book on their .com site, you just pay with your card in euros (although it may not be such a bargain now, due to the weaker pound).
Why not give it a go and book him on some things he might like to do like scuba diving or sailing.....
Only downside (and it may only be the parcs we went to) we didn't find the restaurants as nice as they are in UK ones.

The other thing you can do is to book some nice spaa treatment at cp

I know what you are saying but I just love going to aviemore, you know I can honestly say that I have such a good time, I dont care where I am, I really do mean that, special memories make you happy, Cataway cay or lake morlich at aviemore it all makes me smile if I with with the folk I love, )center parcs i can take my dog, he is 5 and has not been so i cant wait to take him! his granny(well not really) used to love it when the squirrels came in through the patio to sitting room, she used to have a fit to get to them(until the first tree:rotfl: )

You know, i am with your hubby on this I think.
In fact come in march and we could meet for a drink!
