There is nothing more magical than having a character in the MK parade pay special attention to you! We are particular fans of the Main Street Trolley Dancers, well, they have come to recognize us when they are in the parade, they always come by and say hello, give us a special Mckey picture, etc. One day we were buying a pirate flag for a party, and took it out when the pirates and Captain Hook came by, he came over and kissed our hands, and the pirates came over and saluted us and gave us little plastic pirate flags!! How magical!!

One of my most touching moments at WDW was watching the night parade they used to have at Epcot World Showcase - the one with the huge puppets. We were standing next to a mom and toddler who was just learning to walk; he was sitting down as the parade approached. One of the puppets noticed him sitting there and moved toward him. It must have looked like a monster to his little self, and I was holding my breath seeing how he would react. He got to his feet and wobbled toward the puppet, who leaned over him and swept him with those large fabric "wings" and somehow managed to give him a hug. For some reason, I'm still affected when I think of it.

OK, this is kind of different, but it was neat. During Spectromagic, my dh went and bought those light-up tiara's for dd and me. When the float with the Evil Queen went by, she just glared at me, kind of rubbed her crown and then just pointed right at me and motioned for me to come closer. Of course I couldn't because they won't let you, but it was so cool that she noticed my crown. Anyway, now I am hooked on the Evil Queen as my favorite villian and just yesterday bought the halloween costume!

We saved Spectro for the last night of our trip last November. I was so excited when Donald Duck gave in and waved my way. Had to be me, I was acting like a kid yelling for Donald and waving like a wild woman. I think my face was was about to explode I was smiling so big.

It was great until my DH says "Hey, Daffy Duck is waving at you" WHO?
Oh well, he's learning.

Last year during Spectromagic Ursula choose my dh to be her prey one night. she pointed at him called him cutie and really spent time "flirting" with him. This has become our family joke.

This year dd (4) and dneice (7) were choosen to be parade princesses at the parade in MGM. They recieved official certificates with photo ops at the end. It wasn't like being a grand marshall but it sure was special. :goodvibes

Snow White in SpectroMagic always pays special attention to my daughter, it never fails to bring me to tears even tho we see it several times a month.

On our Dec 2001 trip, on my dd's 3rd bday, one of the Lost Boys pulled her out of the crowd and she got to play Simon Says with the Lost Boys and Wendy. My dd was dressed up in her Cinderella dress that day. She was also very shy back then. We were shocked that she actually went away with the Lost Boy.

It was sooooo cute to watch!

I love that parade- it was during the millenium celebration

One of my favorite parades is the DCT parade at MK. The reason is because I've seen it at least 100 times. I have 2 special moments from DCT. 1) I became friendly with one of the chimney sweeps. During the parade he came over and kissed my hand! It was great! 2) It was a great day until about 3:20- when it started pouring JUST as DCT reached Main Street. It was bad- but all of a sudden it got a LOT better. The same chimney sweep came up to me, and he said the BEST thing to me. He told me "you are the best fan", and then he gave me a hug- in the rain! :lovestruc I could hardly believe it! I am now the BIGGEST fan of DCT, and really I'm a big fan of all Disney entertainment. :cheer2:

Our first family trip to the World coincided with the Tapestry of Nations - and we experienced the magic on our first day there! Our DD was not quite 7 then, short for her age and a little overwhelmed by the sheer size of Epcot. The parade started and we were on the water side of the sidewalk between Norway and China. So many of the "puppet people" paid attention to her, and not just her but all of the children in the area -- but one (woman) in particular had her dancing and twirling. :goodvibes It was the best memory - DD still talks about it, and wishes the parade was still there.

At MK parade, DD got chosen to hold the spoon in the Beauty & the Beast part of the parade and we walked behind her. We loved the parade at Epcot and used to stay and watch it two times in a day. We have videos of the people swooping down to touch DD's hands...it was just magical and the dreamcatcher....where you wished on a piece of paper and put it in their little bags. We loved that parade and wished they would ring it back.

Our first trip to the World was in 1995 and our youngest DD was just 3. The first time we saw Spectromagic we had secured Main Street kerbside. I can still see her now in a little pocahontas dress :cutie: As the parade progressed and she could see more floats coming along the pitch of her excited squeals got higher and higher and she jumped up and down :jumping2: with finger pointed at each one as if we could not see them for ourselves. I will never forget that night. Definitely one for the memory bank.

Some things never change, she will be 14 next week and is threatening to get a Tinkerbell outfit for our Christmas trip :rotfl2:

My parade experience was at MGM studios with my 12yr daughter last year in December. You see, I have my very own "Ariel" he he ::yes:: Actuallly, my daughter has very long AUBURN hair. (It is very dark, like Ariels hair) During the stars and cars parade, Ariel pointed to my Amber, blew kisses and waved :wave2: she was definietly acnologing her red hair, and boy did it make her day!! Then Jesse from the Toy Story did the same thing!!! My princess: daughter sure felt special that day, and we made sure to visit Ariel again at MK to get great photos of their matching hair

I hope many cast members read these nad learn what a great gift they give to people. IT IS these moments that make the job itself a Dream come true. Also, even when I was working there, being pulled out or acknowledged was still a great treat!! I have so many magical memories with parades I could never pick a favorite!! Guest also give the performers GREAT memories too. :) Thank you!!!

The first time we went my camera broke during the MK parade, does that count? :teeth:
My special parade expereince was in Tapestry of Dreams on of the puppet performers stopped and reached down to "hug" me. I hope to get some more parade moments on this trip.

I love making faces at the villians when they go by because they will almost always tease you! The queen of hearts came up and said she was going to chop my head off! Its very fun. Other than that, waving and yelling a character's name uncontrollaby always seems to get special treatment.lol. I always blow kisses to the princesses too!

During the MK parade in 1991, one of the CM's in the parade handed by DS (4 yr old at the time) a gold plastic coin that had "20th Anniversary Suprise Party" on it. He felt so very special.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan, so during the Disney Stars and Motor Cars parade, I was taunting Darth Vader. He walked up to me, pointed to his light saber, and threatened me. Man, did I enjoy that! Also, quite a few characters waved at my DGF, as she was waving at all of them. From the corner of my eye, I could tell she got really excited when they waved back. When I finally looked at her waving though, she put her arm down real fast and had an embarrassed look on her face. I told her not to be embarrassed, and that I thought it was cute. But she wouldn't start waving again until I turned away, so that's what I did. Finally, Dopey (I think it was him, but one of the dwarfs for sure) saw me aiming my camera at him, and he stopped right in front of me and posed so I could take a picture. I thought that was really cool of him.

In a not so special moment, during Spectromagic, there was a little kid that kept bumping into me, and yelling for shops to turn off their lights. And it wasn't one of those "aww, how cute, that kid is yelling to turn off their lights." He had a tone in his voice like he was viciously angry. That kind of ruined the magic of the parade. Also, another kid rubbed his Itzakadoozie against my girlfriend's leg. After a long day of sweat, this was the last thing she needed, as her leg was sticky from the popsicle.
