Hi,
I'm not sailing until next April but I have a question. I booked through at TA. I am taking my niece and my parents for their 50th anniversary. On such an occasion I feel the need to have them publically humilated (a cake would do nicely). Do they do things like this and would I talk to the TA or DCL directly? How far in advance should I plan it?

Thanks in advance!!
Donna

that is a great idea, they can set things up in the room in advance through the T.A. and you can talk to your Head Server when you arrive. They do this all the time. Maybe ask to have the Captain Involved at Dinner or something over the intercom system.... maybe in Advance they can print it the Navigator. Talk to DCL about that.

since a 50th anniversary is a big deal, they'll probably do more than their standard special occasion fare :teeth:

Definately note it with your TA now and then when you board your dining staff should be made aware again. We pulled our server off to the side and mentioned it to him but he already had it noted in his notes. Somtimes things get overlooked so always double check with your server the first night to make sure they are aware. We have had both anniversaries and birthdays celebrated onboard in the dining rooms.....your TA will probably ask you what night you want to the cake...we always picked formal night but you can pick whatever night you want.

The servers will usually gather a few more and all sing!!

Here is a link to the cakes they presented....

When we went in Novemer, it was my daughter's 7th birthday and our 10 year anniversery. I spoke with the TA and told them of the special events and then confirmed it with DCL, as the date got closer. Sure enough -- we had cake for the girls, complete with HB song and a cake for DH and myself with teh gang singing happy anniver.

Wow! Your parents will have been married about the same time Disneyland was born! Two 50th Anniversary celebrations?? Cool! :jumping1:

I wonder if you call DCL and ask them, Disney itself may have something available to marry the two events together (such as a plaquard or something stating the two Anniversary). Maybe Mickey will present it, too!::MickeyMo

Our head server came to our table the first night and asked who was celebrating what...there were 5 couples at our table..all of us celebrating anniversaries and one pair of honeymooners.

She said, great..I will bring cakes..what night would you like them on..everything organized, she left..

We all waited, the entire week..not one cake showed up for any of us..no big deal..but, she showed up on the last night for her tips.

No cakes? Gosh, how sad.:(

As ive said in another post: always good to go to the cake decorating show: tell them beforehand, and they will decorate a special cake and present it to you. We had this in March, and it was a lovely idea. Back for our Pearl Anniv next March we hope! Nat:Pinkbounc

Thank you all for your responses, I will get right on it!!
