THere was just a post on the transportation board about just going out to the Alamo and National lots and selecting whatever car you want and going.

I am curious about something here. I have a reservation with Alamo and I reserved a minivan that is to be either Stow and go or have one of the seats removed so I can transport my ECV in it. this is a special reservation, will that vehicle be out with the others do you think? in which case someone may just take it? or do they have it somewhere else?

Has anyone here done the special reservation and gotten a minivan with seat removed or whatever? and if so do they keep it somewhere where it can't be taken by someone else?

No one else has posted about doing that before.

The cars and vans usually all have their keys in them.
I think what they might do for special reservations is keep the keys with the paperwork/at the desk so that you can 'claim' the one that was held for you.

We have rented quite a few times from Alamo and National and a few times have found vans with no keys in them. We didn't know why, but I bet that's how they keep anyone else from taking yours.
And, just to ease your mind, we have usually been able to find a van with Stow and Go seats just having a reservation for a van.

Alamo at MCO will remove the rear seat, or have available a stow and go call to make sure they are aware of the request prior to arrival.
there is a thread on this board from a week ago. THe title was something like ALAMO will remove rear seat;;
dianne
PS a SUV has great codes avaiable $177 a week and others so there is room in the SUV with no rear seat as another option.

On our last trip we specifically asked for a minivan with stow-n-go seats as we need to transport DS's wheelchair. When we'd completed the paperwork the van was brought around to the exit for us. Unfortunately we then discovered that one of the seats was broken and wouldn't fold, so that van was no use and we tried another 3 before getting one which worked. This was with Alamo at Sanford.

I'm assuming with a special reservation they will bring a specific vehicle around for you when you check in.
