My family is going to WDW in Oct. and my DH's parents are going. We have been there a couple of times but are not experts. They are kind of stuffy and really enjoy antiques. They are allowing me to arrange and plan our entire trip. I so don't want to mess this up and let people down! I would like to do something special to ensure a magical experience for them. Does anyone have any ideas? Our travel group consists of myself, DH, MIL, FIL DD11 and DD3. princess: : princess:

You are putting to much pressure on yourself, let Disney do the work for you. Are you staying on site? It's much easier and the in-laws will like it better if they want to go back to the room during the day. You may want to spend some time going through the resorts with the "days gone by" theme to it. Like the Grand Floridian or The Boardwalk. The Boardwalk has some antiques in the lobby but also if you walk down the corrider right off the lobby they have some antique view finders that you put in 1 penny (at least that how much it was) and they show some really old cartoons in the flip version. It's pretty cool. I think they would also enjoy places in the World Showcase, especially the shops and buildings in the UK. Have they ever been to Disney before? Do they know what to expect? Anyway, you have 2 kids to worry about, I would put my focus on that and make sure they are having a good time, the adults can take care of themselves. Good Luck and have fun! ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo :cool1:

They have never been there before and we are staying on site. I hoping they will be so wrapped up in the kids that they will have a good time. I'm sure it will be fine. I just wanted something a little extra for them since this is a first and probably a last for them. They have already told me they are not theme park people and are going for the experience for the kids. Thank-you for the advice! Anymore will be greatly appreciated! princess: princess:

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm sure your in-laws will enjoy WDW especially with your kids!

We've taken my DM the last few times we've gone. We get connecting rooms (not adjoining) this way we can be as close or private as we would like. We always leave some time for Mom at all the parks, so she can just wonder around by herself. We meet up a few hours later. The time apart seems to be getting shorter the more we go. The World Showcase will probably be great for them.

Why not sign them up for a tour? There is several to pick from.

If you are going in OCT have you thought about MNSSHP?

Don't forget rest and downtime is important for everyone. :flower:

Guess it depends what the budget is, etc., if they are not too much into the theme park aspect, how about some special dining for them, if they prefer quiet maybe something like afternoon tea at the grand floridian for them, or the coral reef at the living seas is a peaceful lunch with good atmosphere for the kids at well, how about an illuminations cruise or a pontoon boat rental etc. Browsing the shops in the world showcase while having a few snacks etc. from different countries that appeal to them.

Take them to the Boardwalk in the evening when it's all lit up for a nice walk around to beach and yacht club and back. Epcot would be a nice park for them especially the world showcase where there is a lot to see and a variety of nice restaurants.

I may check into the tours. It's really my DFIL that I was worried about! Thanks for all the suggestions! princess: princess:
