Special food requirements?

I'm travelling in a party of 6 adults. One of them is a vegetarian, and another is allergic to certain foods (like wheat). I've had a look at menus but I wondered if anyone has ever had problems requesting certain things during sit-down meals?

Table service places are wonderful when dealing with food allergies. When making your ADR have them note the allergy on your reservation. They will then give you a phone number to contact the chef 7 days before your arrival. Disney is top-notch on dealing with food allergies.
