Special Fall Cast Rates!?

Hi all,

Has anyone heard anything about fall cast rates? I was looking at hotel availability for WDW on the Hub just now and saw some extra discounted fall rates. I can’t see any announcements on the Hub though as we usually get, and one minute the special rate pops up and the next it’s back to the normal 50% discount! I search for availability at the Grand Floridian and nothing comes up at all, and then when I search for availability at the Grand Floridian Villas, a special fall rate pops up for the Grand Floridian. I search for Wilderness Lodge and it says there is no availability, but then Wilderness Lodge pops up at 50% when I am searching for another resort.

I’m not sure if they’re in the process of adding more deals, but this has never happened to me before and I’m finding it really hard to navigate availability. Has anyone else had any luck?

I don't have any info on any special rates for the fall, but the situation you're describing when searching for availability on the Hub is something I've experienced for years. I don't know why it happens, but it's super frustrating!

Over the years, I've also frequently had that issue when searching CM rates via The Hub... definitely frustrating!
But, wow, 50% off rates this fall? That's great... I've been on and off stalking rates for early December and there hasn't been much availability at all and most have been 25% off (which reminds me that it's time for another stalking)

Maybe those GF rooms are those new standard villas in that refurbished building? (no kitchenette).

Keep us posted on this. I remember mostly late Spring and summer (more than 50%)offers in the past, as Fall is so popular.

And looking at rates with the Hub rooms was always like that. In and out. You ask for Pop, it's only there at 25% or not at all, so you ask for AS Movies, and to the right, you see Pop at 50% off after all. It is one of he reasons I hate calling for rooms now (retiree) because I can't ask a CM over the phone to keep slogging away at it like I would as I watch TV on my couch. LOL.

It says it’s a fall discount when rooms with the special discount come up, but it looks like the latest the “fall” discount goes to is September. I guess you could class September as fall but August certainly not, haha.

When I was looking for availability for August/September a few months ago practically nothing came up. I am guessing that they tend to add availability with the 50% discount closer to the time. Recently I’ve seen all of the moderates coming up at 50% at some point and most of the deluxes too. I’ve also found if you put in longer dates than you plan on staying, often more availability pops up. That said I know August is value season, but I had some success this February too so hopefully it’s the same for December soon!

Thanks Pat! It seems that though they’re calling it a “fall” offer it only goes up until mid September. Perfect for our trip though of course, our resort of choice doesn’t pop up (Yacht and Beach - unsurprisingly!)

I’m amazed I haven’t had this problem before as it sounds like from you all that it happens a lot! I must’ve spent hours on the Hub the other day trying every possible combination of dates, lol. I don’t know why the availability is so complicated. I must’ve tried 50 combinations of dates and hotels before I got the room and offer I was happy with.

On the bright side, it seems they’re adding new offer availability every few days which is great. Definitely worth a look if you’re planning a trip before mid September!

You are rubbing it in how badly I wish I could hunt for room deals myself on the Hub, and not be forced to call! (Retiree) LOL

I have a WDW trip soon (July 12) but did get 2 Pop Century rooms for 50% off. I am sticking with that to save some $$ this time, this shorter trip was just added to go to a DVC MM after hours event, and to ride Guardians (next WDW trip isn't until December, I could not wait that long!)

I am going to the D23 Expo in September so lots of trips this year, thank goodness I can use my MEP now.

There definitely are 60% off fall rates. I was able to get it over Labor Day!

I believe it just says it is valid from now until early September. It isn't very detailed.

Keep checking though- we were just able to update our July reservation from 50 to 60 as well.

Oh! Let me say this too. For some reason a lot of the cast members we call have no idea about this or how to search for it. It does not say a code name or anything to use. They have not been able to see the rates over the phone. I want to say we called 7 times and only 2 of the 7 cast members were able to find the fall rates.

I imagine that more discounts will be released closer to the time. In previous years I’ve had no problem booking 50% off 7 months in advance but this year, have found that the availability is released 2-3 months ahead. I guess for Christmas it could be different though!

If it helps, the best discount I can see for 4 nights the first week of December is 40% off at AKL, 3 nights at CSR for 50% off too. Nothing comes up for a full week - may be worth fiddling around with dates and booking several shorter stays?
