My DFi and I will be honeymooning in Disney this coming January. Neither of us have been to Disney in about 10 years, I know the horror! I was planning on doing a private dining or dessert party, but it is out because of cost. I have been looking over the tours, but can not find any reviews on them. I have heard that the Keys to the Kingdom tour was a good one. I really really want to see La Nouba, but it is cut for now because of money, I mean even the cheap seats are $82 a piece :scared1: My DFi also loves animals so I know that Animal Kingdom will be appealing for him, but the coolest stuff is only for those staying at AK. I thought the Dolphin thing sounded neat, but we did it at SeaWorld (that's how he proposed) and $140 pp is a bit much.

So are the tours worth it, or does any one have any other ideas of something inexpensive that I can add on to surprise him. I think no more than $200, which leaves things pretty open and I could add La Nouba. I just wanted everyone's opinion on what would be worth it and a nice surprise. We are only going for 6 six days so I don't want to overload things either, leaving us time to relax.

I haven't been on any of the tours yet, but if I did one it would probably be the Keys to the Kingdom. We have seen Cirque and it is awesome! You also do not need to buy the most expensive seats, we were in category 2 and I thought that was perfect because you could really see the whole stage. There is not really a bad seat in the theater, I've heard the category 3 seats were good too if you wanted to save even more.

Cirque is one of DF's favorite things we've done at Disney, I wasn't sure we would like it because I thought Cirque would be too weird, but it was really great and a fun night out at Disney.

I would highly recommend the Around the World on a Segway tour. It's the one where you take a Segway around the EPCOT World Showcase before it opens. I think it's about $95 per person. We did this one and the Keys to the Kingdom tour last year. They were both enjoyable but, of the two, the Segway tour was a much more memorable experience.

I have to say- Cirque is an AMAZING show! It is a bit pricey- but it's worth it! The show is like nothing you have ever seen!

I would recommend the Backstage Tour at Animal Kingdom, it's soooo great. I learned so much about animals, and the way AK is set up. My whole family LOVED it and I think that if your DFi likes animals he will too.

I can't comment on the other tours as I haven't done them, but Keys to the Kingdom was fabulous.
As for Cirque...I haven't seen the Disney show, but I have seen a performance, and it was amazing.

The $82 was for the cat 2, I'm waiting to see if they give a deal with my Disney Visa, they had a deal for 15%, or something like that, but it was only through the summer. If you are ever to Vegas go see La Reve it is the only Cirque show I have seen and it was amazing, it is one of the water ones, it was awesome.

I would love to do the Segway tour, but my DFi exceeds the maximum weight limit, he's tall and about 275 :sad1: so what can you do. They sound awesome.

I still want to see the Cirque show, I was not happy when DFi wanted to cut it, but we hired a more expensive photographer so we have to cut it for now. I may just add it back in and surprise him. I mean it's our honeymoon and we are working so hard to save, what's another $200!

I think that is what I am between Keys to the Kingdom and Cirque. I would love to do both, but I don't want to overload either.

I thank you everyone for sharing their experiences. :cool1: I appreciate it.

We've chosen to do Keys to the Kingdom, and we got a discount because of our annual passes - based on all the reviews I've read it sounds great! We also had it as an item on our honeymoon registry.

We are lucky, though, as my mum and dad have paid for us to go to Cirque with them.

I've done Keys and Cirque and they are both great. I surprised DF with tandam parasailing which was fab.

Oooh, there's one where you snorkel in the Living Seas tank, I think that is the coolest thing but DF said he wouldn't do it because there are sharks in there. =(

I know this sounds nerdy, but if you're at all interested in nature/fish, the Behind the Seeds at Epcot tour packs a lot of value for only about $16/person. It's at least an hour long, and you learn so much and get to see such cool stuff - it makes you realize that the Living with the Land ride barely scratches the surface of Epcot's programs in the Land Pavilion. (Plus, hey, free fruit sample! :rotfl:)

It was one of the highlights of our honeymoon.

Another cool thing we did was parasailing. It was so nice to be up there together enjoying the amazing views just the two of us. :goodvibes

I understand your sticker shock when purchasing tickets for Cirque...but we just saw it for the first time 2 weeks ago and I literally turned to my DF and said "now I understand why the tickets cost so much". Worth every penny! Plus, you could make a nice evening out of it with dinner at DTD.

That's a good idea to add it to the registry, I think I have the Cirque on there.

I did see that one, but I think the idea of swimming with sharks didn't sit well with me either. You could always do it and have him take pictures of you from the other side

It's not nerdy. I really like that idea actually. I saw it on the list, but was unsure, so it's good to know more about it. We love all that edjamacational stuff :goodvibes Parsailing sounds awesome too. Thanks!

I know it's worth it, we saw La Reve in Vegas, totally amazing BTW, but my DFi's parents paid for our tickets. I still want to go, but we're trying to cut things out. I suppose I'm being a bit selffish  I know he wants to see it too because he keeps to convince himself (and me) that it's probably not as good as the other ones. But it's a Disney Cirque, how can it be bad!

I think I will wait a little bit to see if a discount comes out with my Disney Visa.

I have to agree with Lurkyloo, the Behind the Seeds tour was pretty cool. I did it with a friend, and we both really enjoyed it.

I also have done the Keys to the Kingdom tour. I would highly recommend that one. My DF and I did that one last summer, he is not as in to Disney as I am (don't worry though, I'm working on him! :)), but he was absolutely fascinated. I really enjoyed it also, it was well worth the money!

We've done key and cirque. If I was going to do something for the wedding it would be Cirque. The show is amazing and worth the price. Actually, we are thinking about getting tickets for the parents as their gifts and will probably go again ourselves someday b/c it was just that great!

I think I'm still leaning towards cirque, although I just read the 2009 no-show days and it was not showing the entire week that we will be there, so I have to hope that 2010 is not the same. I don't know if anyone knows it the 2010 schedule is up yet, I tried to google it, but got nothing.
