My parents are taking me, my brother and my brothers fiance on a week long trip to WDW in december. They are also paying for the entire trip for all of us. When my brother told them that he was getting engaged, they immediately decided on this trip. But that meant that they had to cancel their trip that they were planning for their anniversary next week. Because of this, my brother and I decided that we want to treat them to a special dinner one of the nights during our trip.

I was looking at:

The Wave
California Grill
Narcossees
Citricos
Yachtsmen Steakhouse

We have never been to any of these and I would love some opinions on which one to reserve.

Also, If anyone has any other restaurant suggestions that I did not mention, you can suggest those as well.

ETA: my brother and I are both fairly poor college students..haha...so we really dont have a lot to spend and we were hoping to keep it for the two of them with tax and tip at around $150 (including wine and dessert for both of them)...i'm guessing that should not be a problem right?

ETA: Forgot to list Artist Point and Jiko. I checked and all of these are available for the time adn day that I want which is making the decision that much harder

Ok, since you have that budget I would eliminate all of the signature restaurants. You will easily go over your budget with wine, tip etc at them.

The Wave is a really nice restaurant that is budget priced. You get bang for your buck there.

Yep, that is where I would send them.

California Grill would be my choice of where to send them, followed by Narcoosees.....but if cost is the only factor, look at the menus online to get a feel for the prices. It's certainly possible to go over your budget at any of those restaurants, especially if you choose expensive wine, etc.

How were you planning to pay for it? Meaning, gift card or something similar? If they went over your gift amount they could easily add their own money as well. I don't think there is any way to pay ahead of time for a meal completely unless you sent them to a buffet, lol. I would make them a reservation and then give them an amount of cash or gift card, etc and they will know what to do. ;) (example, choosing wine that fits your budget.....or theirs...) no matter, they will appreciate and love the gift and the sentiment. :goodvibes

Btw, CG reservations require a credit card. Make the ressie then give them a gift card with your budgeted amount on it, that's what i would do.

My pick is Cali Grill too. It's a really nice restaurant, and if they know its their anniversary, they may get a free dessert. We did. It was a wonderful chocolate cake. I like the gift card idea, then if they go over, they could pay. Wine could run you at any of the places around $50 -60 a bottle, and then the entrees are around $25-40. then if they wanted appies, plus tip.

For a couples only dinner, I would pick Citricos. Out of the ones on your poll, food is best here and it's got a better chance of being quieter.

Ca Grill would be my second choice because we enjoy the sushi but both my husband and I (we are in our 50's) cannot stand what has happened to this place with the noise level since it's become the place to watch fireworks.
