Greetings All. Have reservations for a week in September 2008, staying at the Poly (can't seem to decide which longhouse to request), with my DD 14, DS 15 and my boyfriend, the love of my life and soulmate that I was lucky enough to meet at the age of 45. The trip is special and I really want everyone to have a wonderful time and come home with great memories (I have some health issues and my kids certainly sense that this is a trip we will not be repeating). Everyone is VERY excited, we have been doing our homework, ECV for me is lined up, we have even started assembling clothes--early, I know!. Can anyone recommend 1) a nice restaurant for a family birthday dinner where I can order a cake to be delivered to the table, and 2) my boyfriend and I will be celebrating our anniversary and would like a romantic dinner w/o the kids? Thanks to everyone for all of the fabulous information and tips.

I am going to move this over to our Disney Restaurant board. They will be able to answer all of your restaurant questions.

If you haven't checked out our disABILITIES forum you might want to read over there, especially the FAQ's. There is a lot of great information for ECV users and other health conditions that you might find helpful. You can find it here: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=20

Have a great trip!

romantic dinner w/o kids - Narcoosee's @ 8pm on a night when there's fireworks in the park! You'll be able to see the fireworks plus the electric water parade!:cool1:

as far as a b'day dinner, you can pre-order a cake from almost any TS restaurant. Depends what kind of food you like and your budget? I'm planning an 80th bday (w/19 guests) for DH now. Originally picked upscale Artist Point @ Wilderness Lodge (after I learned that Contemporary's California Grill was noisy). However, the logistics of getting 19 ppl to WL may be too much so I moved the ressie to Jiko's at AKL - another upscale rest. a tad less expensive.

This may give you some ideas to consider; the ressies I made include:
8pm dinner ressies at Narcoosee's
safari dinner ressies at Jiko's at AKL (comes with the safari - expensive)
dinner ressies at one of the top restaurants in Epcot - LeCellier (call early to get in here!) (going w/2 other couples that are steak lovers)
dinner ressies at Kona Cafe (not in any park so no matter if we're in Epcot or MK, we'll be able to get here on the monorail) (those 2 other couples still eat beef here)
afternoon tea at Grand Floridian
dinner ressies at Jiko's (if my budget doesn't break; otherwise, I might have to move them again to Boma's buffet at AKL which also gets great reviews) (there's prime rib on the menu at Boma's for those 2 other couples)

Who's bday is it - one of the kids or adult's?
