Special birthday things to do?

I took it that she meant the family members of the birthday people (who would have been in the party as well). Correct me if I'm wrong, though!

If everyone who attends has to have paid for the privilege, you'd think they could be in the picture too :confused3 My girls will be celebrating 2 weeks before we go and two weeks after. I'd hope they wouldn't be banned from photos because it wasn't their actual birthday!

Your daughters will be celebrating their birthdays so they totally count. They dont ask for a birth certificate to prove its your actual birthday. I am sure if they wanted a picture it will be fine. And if you wanted to pop in with them...also fine. I can see where it would take too long if everyone wanted an individual picture with Mickey and Minnie. But when I was there, each time there was a dancing conga line with Mickey, Minnie and Pat E. Cake that ends with everyone being in a neat orderly line to take a turn for a picture with all the moms and dads set up for pictures. The handlers moved everyone in the line through quickly and it was all very smooth. I would not worry about this and think it might have just been an off day or an unruly group that particular day.

We had considered doing this on our April trip (which got cancelled), but I didn't realize that you pay for everyone in the party rather than just the children participating. I was thinking it was going to be such a deal at $10 per child...! Silly me. :lmao:

Thanks for the info! I'll be celebrating my 40th at Disney in Aug - yahooo!

also, I just made reservations for the Plaza Inn, and I was asked if I wanted the 2 pm or 4 pm celebration on a Thursday. So it sounds like they have it twice a day on weekdays too.

So, are the birthday buckets worth it? Seems kinda expensive for a bucket, a toy, a pin and a cake. Am I missing something?

The birthday bucket os ook.. We got it so my mom could have the pin and DD1 got the bucket. The cake in it was kinda gross..

So if you can get it with out the cake that is ok. Also the top of ht bucket comes off for easier storage.

:cool1: Thanks for posting all that info, my bf and I are both going to DL/DCA for our bdays in October. I am thinking we may have to go do a character experience...just for fun!

We got the Princess bucket when we went for our girls' Bday July 1 and didn't think it was worth the money. The waitressess had everyone sing Happy Birthday when they gave them the bucket. The bucket has a crown on top covering a small cake. Inside the bucket was a brush, comb, and mirror and a couple of princess magnets. The price was $20 each.

We missed the Plaza birthday party because we couldn't get the girls to wake up! During our 3 days there I had them wear their pins (which we got at the Grand CAlifornian) and all the characters noticed, the CM's were great with them and many had groups sing Happy Birthday while waiting in lines.
