We're (hopefully) going to Disney for the 3rd time in January on my son's 8th birthday. Do they do anything special for birthday boys???

You can make a note on your reservation. The resort may or may not do something; so don't get disappointed if they don't. They get a lot of requests. If they do they will send balloons and a signed photo card of usually Mickey to your room.

Be sure to mention it when making ressies for meals. They will usually bring a cup cake complete with candle. Otherwise if you want a bigger cake you can arrange that, too. The Garden Grill offers a free 6" cake with your meal. That might be a fun place to go.

Most important be sure to stop by City Hall at MK to get him a Birthday Button!

Oops! I forgot to tell you something.

Welcome to the Boards!

that will be so much fun! one suggestion is to bring him to see his favorite charector -- but before you do - either you or your husband go up to the cast member with the character and tell them that it is your sons bday and what his name is - this works especialy well with the live charecters! They really will interact with them and when they call you DS by his first name -- His reaction will be priceless!:teeth:

I read somewhere on this site that on your bday you can visit MK City Hall - tell them it's your bday - and you will get some sort of Bday Pin. Not sure if you have to pay for it or not.
I'm anxious to check this out as I will be @ DW for my bday in 2 weeks.
Definately going to make a stop at City Hall to see if this is true or not.

If anybody has more info about these bday pins...please share!

:wave2:

Anniversary pins too!
wow!
my anniversary is the day after my bday!
will be celebrating both and will definately get the pin as a special souvinir

We were at EPCOT for my son's 3rd birthday. If you go up to a CM (that doesn't have a lot to do) he/she can call a special number and have a recording of Goofy saying Happy Birthday.

Our CM was an international student from Germany, and I'll never forget her. I think she was just as excited as we were.

Have a great time!

PS - I would definitely do a character meal and let the host/ess know it's a special day. We had my son's first birthday (yes, he's a lucky kid) at Chef Mickey, and Mickey actually sat on the floor and played with Matty's presents with him. We just watched the video (he's turning 5 when we're in Disney next month) the other day. It was awesome.
