Good to have you here!

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE.
Here's to a good week!
:wizard:

Just spent this past weekend watching all 3 "LORD OF THE RINGS" movies. :faint: Boy, were they something! We saw them in the theater when they came out, but after hearing/seeing all the special commentaries on the DVDs, seeing them all again made them even more special.

Elaine, hope you're feeling better... Margaret too. to you both!

Good Morning all.
Well I am a little hurting this morning!
I walked my very first Half-Marathon yesterday in Central Park. It was the More Magazine Marathon/Half-Marathon for women. It was a great event-Past Party Sat. night at Tavern on the Green-Greta Weiss was there as well as -forgive me I forget her name-the First woman to run the Boston marathon.

I am thinking about the Minnie in May-not sure what the pacing is expected to be. Believe me, I was doing a slow and steady yesterday-nice thing was it was within the park-a few laps around Central park-it was all good!

I see that the Disney Free Dining has come out for end of Aug. and Sept. This is a great thing. I have booked POR--for pre-cruise. You can't get the Fee dining if you use points-so if you have booked a room on points you may want to consider booking on cash for the free dining ans save your point for another day!

Thanks for the update on the Free Dining Noreen.:thumbsup2 Glad your half marathon was a good experience. I think the pacing for the Minnie is a 15 or 16 minute mile. We will be down in May. We're doing the 5K. Scott and Lynn will be doing the 15K!

Nezy, the Minnie is a 15m/m pace, but it is only 15K. It is also the last year for the Minnie, last chance to get that Minnie medal!

Georgie, what about the Tower of Terror 13K? They have lowered the pace in that to 18m/m, so it should be more do-able for more people (it was originally 15 or 16).

WOW! Thanks! That's news to me. I had written to them recently begging for the 6.5K and or a lower pacing requirement. I didn't know they lowered it. Maybe that will be doeable for us now. There were so many families doing that event together, but I know it "got in the way" of the more professional runners, and Disney changed the event 13K only.

Thanks for the update. I will check this out! :goodvibes

We would like to do that one, or the Expedition everest one. That one has a 15 min mile. Looking at all they want to accomplish in the time frame, it seems a bit tight, if you are planning on walking and not running...

Just checked the write up... still shows 16 m/m???

Good Morning.....

Welcome aboard, If you would like to share the names of your traveling party, I could add you to the roster.
other things we would like are dining and cabin numbers.
There are a bunch of little things planned, you can see the list I have been keeping, by clicking the link in my signature.

Peter

Would like to see everyone get a lanyard or gift, from the people who are planning to do so, weather you are able to do something or not.

Others, who maybe on the roster already, please take alook at the info I have to make sure it is correct. ;)
Or if you need something added, like cabin number or Kids names or your name. Just let me know..

According to one of the folks on the WISH boards, he got an e-mail from Disney saying they were changing the pacing requirements, he has been lobbying them for the change. The website apparently has not been changed yet.

Everest does look like fun, but we cannot do both Everest and TOT, and we chose TOT.

I think they will have corrals, or at least pacing signs for the start of TOT this year, which means that without the mass start of last year, the runners can be up front and not have to plow thru the walkers. That should make for a smoother start this year.

CONGRATS WAY TO GO, Lynn answered the pace ?

BACK TO WORK.

Congratulations Noreen, that is great.

I have been thinking about doing one of the Disney events myself. I have never done one, does anyone know what the shortest is? Is there a 5k or anything? I think I could run/jog that long. I am in my mid-40's, not great shape but not bad, I jog about 30 minutes 2-3 a week and go to the gym and do elliptor (sp?) about 30-45 mins the other 2-3 days. Do some weight sets and yoga about once a week too, to stay fit, but I am about 25 pounds overweight too. no health problems.

The shortest I've seen is the 5K. One is coming up in May. Do a search on Google, etc. for Disney Endurance and you'll find the site with all the endurance series races.

Check out the W.I.S.H. boards for all kinds of info. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info, hmm May in WDW seems to hot for me but I'll look into it.

So when I was planning our first WDW trip last November I bought a ton of books to help me plan. We used Passporter the most. I was trying to find Cruise Books with DCL information but there doesn't seem to be a lot out there.

What are some of your favorites? Also, can I only purchase the DCL Passporter online or is available in stores too?

Hey could you add us.
Mike & Lisa, Jack 4(DS), Emma 3(DD) Room #2524
Linda (Lisa's mom), Josh 12 nephew, Zack 9 nephew Room #2526

The only cruise book I bought was the Birnbaum's DCL. Although I had already sailed on DCL 3x before it came out. I liked it because I could quickly look thru the excurision info all in a compact section.
I found I get better info reading the fan sites and boards though.

Peter & Jenn and Janis & Ron

Mom says thank you so much for your cards....they really brightened her day.

Hi Peter (& Jenn)

Mom is starting to feel better but is still in a bit of pain....she gets her stitches out on Friday...so we'll see what happens then.
