I need suggestions for a really good sippy cup.
I am tired of all the ones that say "leak free' leaking all over my new carpet. My little one still drinks milk so Im trying to get her to drink her milk in a sippy cup but she holds it upside down for now, puts it on couch, etc and I have milk everywhere.

My older one doesnt care what she drinks her juice from as long as its pink, lol and the little one wants what she has,so needless to say I buy everything in twos for now.

so anybody find a product that really is leak free/spill free for the most part,I know nothing is 100% but anything 85-90% :)

thnanks for any tips

I have forever used the Playtex sippy cups. I tend to buy the insulated ones...which do come in pink! As long as the stopper is inserted correctly, we haven't had any leaks. My 5-year-old still uses one with milk when she drinks in the living room. (I don't want milk on my couch!)

I have three DDs and I have tried every sippy cup on the market. My favorite ones, by far, are the Playtex ones. They don't leak if the valve is in correctly, and you can buy replacement valves without buying new cups.

I love the nalgene sippy cups; you can find them at stores like REI. They are a little more expensive (around $10) but they don't leak and hold up beautifully. DS has been using one for a couple months and he does fine with the hard spout. I have only had them leak once and that was after DD shook hers for a few minutes. The valve had simply come loose. DD has used them for a couple of years and I have replaced the valves once ($4 for two replacement valves) because they were starting to discolor, ewww. I also like that you can attach them to anything with a carabineer, makes them harder to loose and keeps my hands free!
OK - off my soapbox, good luck finding one that works for you!

We use the playtex cups too. My girls are 4 and 5, and I don't want spills either. They sometimes use a squirt top, like on the sports bottles, when they drink their water. They drink out of regular cups at their mealtimes at the table. I feel bad, giving my almost 6 year old a sippy cup, but our carpet is light beige and I want it to stay that way...LOL.

We have the Nuby straw cups. These are the only ones that DD will use. They only leak if the straw part isn't properly "popped" in (DH!).

They aren't like the Nuby sippy, those things are terrible!

I have a hard time with the playtex leaking around the seal--not the spout!! We alos like the gerber ones.

We have the Playskool brand sippy cups. No problems with leaking at all. We bought them at Babies R Us.

I really liked the gerber ones, but I found that after a while the valve won't stay in place. We switched to the playtex, and those have worked great, plus they have Buzz Lightyear on them so DS loves them.

I use Avent sippy cups. They're kinda expensive, but the the bottles and sippy tops are all interchangeble with the nipples for the infant bottles so it made transitioning super easy. They also tend to be mostly leakproof.

We love the sippy cups from the First Years! ! ! 1. They do not have a separate valve that you have to take out to clean. 2. We have never had any leaking. They come with lots of character designs including Cars, Princesses, Thomas, and Sesame Street.

Thanks so much for all of your input and advice
I decided to order a few of the nalgene sippy cups off of ebay, and they were pink (woo-hoo)
I didnt even realize they made sippy cups,we used their leakproof bottles when traveling to China and they worked out amazingly well.

we also are going to take a trip to TRU or BRU today for a few of the playtex ones, just to have a few extra "just in case"

thanks again and I hope to report back on a "leak-free" experience

Dick's sporting goods carries nalgene sippy cups/bottles as well. $7.99 I think but usuallly can find a coupon.

seems big to lug aorund Disney though.

I usually buy those take and toss things and then really do take and TOSS, that's the key, they work great for a short while but not for repeated use.

btw, we remove all leak proof values and very rarely have to many leaks?

nalgene never leaks w/o valve.

oh and wlamart has that under $2 nuby one with soft spout that doens't leak either . . .at first, just treat it as a disposable after a few weeks.

gerber is our fav. w/ no valve is great for home but they do not fit in car cup holders at all

playtex drive me nuts with that extra hole thingy in lid. I like to shake our drinks up (choc. milk or koolaid/lemonaid single packs) and what a mess to hold finger over two openings.

I use Avent sippy cups. They're kinda expensive, but the the bottles and sippy tops are all interchangeble with the nipples for the infant bottles so it made transitioning super easy. They also tend to be mostly leakproof.

We also use Avent sippy cups. I have tried others, but even the Playtex ones leak at our house:confused3 . I liked the transition from Avent bottles to sippy cups to a cup.
