Speaking of reading, anyone buy/read Clinton's memoirs yet?

I've heard it described as dull by too many people. If I hear anyone has a differing opinion of that, including those here on The Dis, I might pick it up. Till that time however, I won't be buying it.

He's on Oprah right now talking about it. Watch the show and save yourself some money! ;)

I'm afraid not. I've seen parts and pieces of enough interviews lately to get the gist of the book. It doesn't interest me at all, my blood pressure is high enough already. ;)

"Can't wait till the 5th when I can get it signed by the man himself at the Constitution Center."

Do me a favor and tell him this 36 year old registered Democrat mother of 2 thinks he's a pig. The reason I think he's a pig is because if Monica hadn't saved "the dress" he'd have continued to call her a liar and hung her out to dry. I don't think he's much of a "man" at all.

I like presidential biographies. I read the Johnson books written by Robert Caro, and I'm nearly through the Truman bio written by David McCullough.

The reviews I've read - and I've read several - all say that it's a very dull book. And at 900+ pages it's a very long, dull book. I think I'll save the money and wait for the definitive biography of the guy.

What Jill said.

I'll pick up a copy eventually. It might be hard for a while because it's unbelievable how well it's selling.

I haven't bought it yet, but I will. I always buy Presidential memoirs - I like to read their perspectives on what happened during their terms.

And Jimbo, when you finish the Truman bio, I highly recommend David McCullough's bio of John Adams. It's awesome.

I'll definately read it but I probably won't buy it myself. If all else fails I'll just wait for Mom to buy and finish it and then I'll steal it from her. :p

I'm 904 on the library "reserve" list. Worse-I'm 967 on the
reserve list for Janet Evanovich's "Ten Big Ones" and I want
to read that in the worst way. Love the library-have been to
three of them in two days. We have books all over the place.
I'm reading three at a time!

I'm not sure if I will buy it or wait until I get it at the library, but I'll definitely read it.

Sure, I'll buy it and read once the lines go away.

Not only am I buying it I'm getting a signed copy on July 22nd! WooooHOOOO! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

No thanks. I won't watch him on any of the shows he will probably be on over the next few weeks either.

I'm in an audio book club where I can download 2 audio books a months. This month I am downloading the Clinton book and the new Stephanie Plum book by Janet Evanovich.

Growing up in Arkansas (my birthday is one day before Mr. Bill's) I've heard all of this and more so I don't think I'll be listening to the Clinton book.

The Clinton book is for my sister - I'll burn a cd for her for her birthday. She still loves Mr. Bill dearly and is a big Democrat. I'm a very good sister (her words).

Guess his book isn't very popular here... we were in Costco this evening, and they had a whole pallet of them just sitting there! :hyper:
