There are so many men that shop christmas eve. A lot of them are so confused. And most aren't that picky that day either.
"how much?!" :earseek: "are you sure?" "ok"

I try to steer them in the right direction. But they give me dirty looks when I tell them they do have to wrap the gifts. :rotfl:

Thats not me. I go in knowing exactly what I want, get it and get out. What takes so long is alllll the women browsing....slooooooowly.

I love wrapping gifts. LOTS of tape...lol

Gift bags are just fine Jason. ::yes::

Shutterbug, those women bug me too. lol

My husband is one of those Christmas Eve shoppers mostly due to his lack of free time. It is one day he can dignify taking off or not working late. I have to say one day I will not go out on again is 12/26.

Men get that "dear in the headlights look" :earseek: when they shop. I love to see them holding up a blouse and looking at it as if they don't know what it could be. :rotfl:

DH and I were shopping yesterday. Some poor guy was trying to return a shirt for an even exchange without a receipt. He didn't know the rules and neither did the old, mean male clerk. He tried to tell him that it would cost him $5 more for the same shirt, larger size. I butted in and told him it was an even exchange. The clerk said "no". I told the customer to find a clerk who would do it correctly. The Clerk got mad and told the customer to "go with her if you think she's right". Apparently the customer thought I was right and he refused to pay the additional $$$. The clerk went and asked another nice lady, who usually works there and she told him in a not too patient voice; "PUT IT IN AS AN EVEN EXCHANGE AND GIVE THE MAN HIS SHIRT". The customer thanked me and the clerk gave me a dirty look! I just smiled sweetly and DH shook his head.
Men JUST DON'T KNOW THE RULES of shopping. They need help.

A LONG time ago, I worked a part time job in a department store, and the very BEST (meaning the funniest) time to work was Mother's Day weekend. These guys would come in looking completely lost. I'd immediately come up and ask "Looking for a Mother's Day Gift?" To which I'd get a desparate "Yes!" Then I'd ask "Mother or wife?" And then the very best question. "What size is she?" I can't tell you the number of times they looked at me and said "Bigger than you." I got pretty good at steering them toward the small/med/large items that I thought would work. It floored me how many men had NO idea what size their wives wore.

Now in their defense, I did have one guy who had an itemized check sheet with sizes of everything! That was one prepared guy. Must have had a good wife!

My DH is a Christmas Eve shopper and you're right they aren't too picky by that time. One year I got a purple bathrobe that weighed about 50 pounds and would have fit perfectly if I was 2 feet taller and 100 pounds heavier. But, hey, it was something to unwrap, right?

My DH plans for his gifts months in advance and puts a lot of thought into getting something "just right."

He's a keeper!

I have to brag on my DH too. He may wait til the week before Christmas - but he usually knows what he is going to buy. And he always runs the ideas by my Mom who knows what I like. This year I got an anniversary band (diamonds all the way across). Our 5 year anniversary was in Sept. but the ring didnt come in on time. When we bought our wedding bands in 2000 I had looked at an anniversary band that I liked - the clerk wrote the style number on a card. DH kept that card in his wallet all this time and had the store track down the exact ring I had liked. Is that cool or what? DH also buys my birthday gift (birthday in March) at Christmas time. My birthday is always during ACC March Madness week and since DH covers college basketball for a newspaper he is always gone on my birthday. So he buys my gift in December when he has the time to shop.

DH had the kids wrap his gifts for me. They kept occupied for a little while, and I really enjoyed seeing their finished product.

Edited to add - Serena, from all of us wives out there, thank you for steering our guys in the right direction.
