So, you've never experienced pumping full time, yet you "can't buy the high quality argument"?
Wierd. I've never seen someone state their opinion, then admit they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about, in the same sentence before.
One of the reasons I gave up breastfeeding (BELIEVE ME I tried and tried and DD wasn;t takign to it), but one of the reasons why, was because when DD was a week old, and we were finally back home, I was using a manual pump to put milk into her bottles. A manual was all I could afford at the time, and it took a half hour just to get 2 oz or so from one side, let alone having to sit and pump for another 30 mins to do the other. I am private, so I'd go in another room to do this, and couldn't see shutting myself away for an hour each time I had to pump. Of course I would have tried to build up a supply, so that I wasn't locked away, but still..........
If I had had a high quality electric pump, I would have been overjoyed, built up a great supply, and continued to BF DD using pumped milk.....
Anyway, i think a PP said it best when she replied that she would now look at registries with $$$$ items in a new light because of the completetion discount. I think if there's one thing to be learned from this thread, it is just that.
