Has anyone had a spa treatment at Disney? I would love to book one for the middle of my upcoming trip with my mom. I think it would relax and rejuvinate us to hit the parks for the rest of our stay.
I would love to know the good and bad about a Disney spa treatment.

I'm curious about this too, so I hope you get some replies. Did you print the coupons for the spas off the main Disney website yet?

I want to do this too~~ I was seriously considering using the 15% off discount (from staying onsite) to take my DD to one of the kids clubs for 2hrs so I could get a massage!!!!!

They seem uber expensive tho :confused3

....For these prices, we should at least get a character massage, roflmao...

"Disney's Beach Club how can I help you today?"

"Yeah can I order a massage?"

"Certainly, sir. Do you know where our health club is? Next to Beaches and Cream?"

"I do. And could I request Jasmine please?"

"Excuse me?"

I just posted a similar question in the resort sections about WDW spas for a newbie. There were some helpful responses there but its now probably a few pages back. Seems like all the responses were positive. Some found the GF spa a little "stuffy" for their tastes but said treatments were good at all. Heard lots of good things about the one at the Dolphin.

I've had treatments at all 3 of the spas on Disney property: GF, SSR and the Mandara at the Dolphin.

The GF and SSR spas are owned by the same company but I prefer the facilities at SSR. It's bigger, lighter, more modern feel, better treatment rooms/dressing rooms. However, if I was staying in the monorail area, I'd be perfectly content at the GF spa. If I'm staying in the Epcot area, I hit the Mandara.

Yes, I love to spa. I've done WDW vacations where I've went to the spa every morning before heading out into the parks. It's a great addition to a vacation there.

The treatments are no more expensive than any desitination type of spa. The only treatment I've had at WDW that I did not care for, compared to other spas, is the body scrub. The massages, facials, wraps, etc have all been good.

Omg Keith, I am literally LOL'ing at work right now.

I have gotten massages at the Grand Floridian Spa, the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin, and at the Fitness Center at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The most Spa-ish experience is definitely the Mandara Spa. It has a lot of room in which to move around pre- and post-treatment, and feels more relaxing. The GF spa is nice, just a little less immersive a spa experience. Mandara is more expensive for most things, though, IIRC.

The AKL was fine, but wasn't a spa at all. Definitely worth going to an actual spa.

You can have Jasmine, I'll take Alladin. I'm sure DH won't mind.

Thanks :thumbsup2 I'll have to see if I can find your thread.

Well, I'm not sure about every morning but I think I would like to treat my mom for her birthday.

Thanks for the info. I do want it to feel like a spa. Mom deserves to be pampered after putting up with me as a teenager. :rolleyes1

I have been to all three as well. I rank them:

SSR
Dolphin
GF a far third.

Love SSR for the facilities and the services were top notch. Loved going to the Turf Club afterwards for dinner. Nice boat ride back to DTD and then POR where I stay.

Dolphin - same, good facilities, and good food afterwards. Nice boat ride back to DHS.

GF - run by the same people as SSR, but just seems to be a bit more stuffy and more "hard-sell."

This is great information. I've been thinking about adding a Spa day during my trip in May. Was looking at SSR, but the Mandara sounds interesting. Does anyone know if there are discounts for AP or DVC?

I was looking at the one at SSR also. I am also interested if there are AP discounts.

totally agreeing with above poster... for me it would be:

1- SSR ~ staying at SSR
2- Mandara ~ staying at BWV
3-GF

I will be staying at BWV in May...so I'm going to book the Mandara....can't wait.....I really need a "SPA" day.

Went to Mandara in Apr 2009 for a spa morning. Had body scrub/polishing, massage, and mani/pedi. Very much a spa experience with a sort of 'temple' atmosphere. Pricey but an enjoyable splurge.

my husband and i had facials at the Mandara Spa in August of last year. I had to force him to go, but afterwards he enjoyed it so much he joked about getting a facial every week! i definitely liked the atmosphere there and the staff and therapists were very nice and helpful, especially since we almost missed our appointment due to napping/slow buses. next time, i would schedule something that was closer to the place that i was staying or leave a huge amount of time between getting there and our appointment!

This sounds like fun - I was just going to do a massage, but might spring for a manicure/pedicure too. :cool1:

(I've never had one)
