Hi. I want to go buy a pair and was wandering what retail store sells them? I tried on a pair at DD's wedding seamstress but I think that I can get a better price than $45.00.

Holt Renfrew sells them. If you're not near one, you could try checking the prices online thru a US retailer like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, etc to see what the going prices are. :)

Jmichaels has them as well as in the middle of most malls they have Kiosks. I know Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket has a Kiosk.

Tabi sells them and allows you to try them on.
I picked mine up at Winners in the clearance bin for $9!

The Tabi near me will NOT let you try them on....its considered underwear.

I went into the one in the Oshawa Shopping Centre (mind you this was a year ago) and they offered to let me try them on. I too wondered about this, but there are a lot of stores that let you try underwear on too, the same as a bathing suit.:scared1:

If you have Lane Bryants they carry them there. I just bought a pair today. I know they sell them on their website.

You can buy them from The Shopping Channel. They have them on the website all the time.

As far as the price, $45 is pretty much the going rate depending on what style you purchase. They have some that are well over $100.

i just got mine today from the shoppign channel...i got the higher power panty ones- love them!!!!! i'm a matron of honour in septemebr and the dress is beautiful, but not good if youre lumpy! lol i tried mine on as soon as it got here and wow what a differance.....i'll have to try tabi, i didn't know of any other place that sold them.

Just be aware of your dress/material/style. 2 girls in our wedding party bot Spanx, and then with the dress on, you could see the line running down front and centre. So the rest of us didn't bother, it was very noticable. We had to buy a different style/brand.

I agree with the above poster that the prices for Spanx are pretty consistent. I would warn against using an imitator. For example, once I tried some shapewear from Walmart, and let me just say it is not all created equal !

I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I bought the one that is a sleeveless slip (basically a tube shape) and it cost $98. But it was for my wedding, and it was worth every single dollar. I use it all the time under dresses, and even under skirts and blouses. I also purchased a pair that look like underwear that have legs to the knees and that come up under the chest. Those, I believe, were in the high $30.

It's worth every single dollar I've ever spent. The products are sturdy. Other kinds I've tried have fallen apart after a few months, but these are going strong at over a year and a half. Even if you're a smaller woman, they're great. I have a friend that's a size 2-ish, and I rolled my eyes at her, but she showed me the difference before and after, and it really blew me away.

I'm starting to sound like a Spanx rep now, but I just wanted to let you know that they're one of the best products I've purchased in a long time and worth the investment !

As for retailers--larger "flagship" stores in malls should carry them. Lane Bryant also carries them but, of course, only carries larger sizes.

Best of luck !

But with swimsuits you have to keep your underwear on. How in the world would you try on Spanx with your underwear on?

I got mine at Winners for half that price and it was the regular price they charge there. They were the real name brand Spanx too. After finding them here, I took back the pair I had just purchased at Sears. Mine were the type with "legs" that go down past your knee (although you can easily fold them up) and the "waist-line" goes up to your chest.

I saw some this past Thursday at St. Jacob's in a booth at the flea market part of St. Jacobs Farmers' Market & Flea Market. I didn't see the price but was surprised to see Spanx being sold there. I made a mental note because my son is getting married in February and I just might need some.

I've seen them in Winners, ocassionally, but they don't have all the styles and sizes. When I have seen them they have had either the smallest size or the largest and maybe 4 packages. If you can find what you want at Winners all the better, just don't count on it.

Yes...they were super cheap.

It never hurts to check. It might vary from Winners to Winners. There were lots of the style I purchased and they were size B, which is a pretty common size I would think.
