has anyone actually tried it?

As you have probably already guessed, we watched ELF again last night, and to be honest, that spaghetti with syrup actually looks kind of interesting. My wife thinks it's totally gross, but I'm tempted to give it a try. So I was just wondering if anyone has already tried it, and if so, could give a review of it.

Spaghetti with syrup and M&M's and little marshmellows and Pop Tarts (and other yummy sweets) looks even better, but I don't think my wife will let me try that one.

LOL when I saw the thread title ELF came straight to my mind - I LOVE elf our FAV. no we haven't tried it but I'm willing to bet my 12 yr old stepson would if we let him :lmao:

sorry I couldn't give a review but wanted to say I am laughing my butt off :lmao:

thanks :goodvibes

My wife won't let me. I offered the other night when we made pasta, but she said no. :)

I recently got an emailed recipe for chocolate linguine... close but not exactly the same ;)

I wouldn't try it, I know that! I'm way too picky an eater, LOL!

My DD (13) tried it!! We saw Elf about a week ago and wouldn't you know I served pasta that night not even thinking about the movie. All of a sudden she gets up, goes into the kitchen and comes back with syrup :eek:I didn't say a thing and just let her go wild. About the first bite she said it was pretty good, then I noticed she didn't have much after that :lmao:

It isn't all it's cracked up to be I guess:laughing:

In high school cookery class, I made penne pasta with melted chocolate, cookie crumbles and marshmallows. Tasted pretty good for about three bites, then got kind of sickly. But I'd give it a try!

I love that movie, but I can't watch him eat the pasta with the syrup and all the candy....it just looks so icky I have to flip the channel at that part!

Our house Elf, Ralph, made this for himself for breakfast yesterday morning. He had rigatoni noodles, chocolate and carmel syrups, cool whip, green and red sprinkles and a crushed sugar cookie on top. When my DD7 woke up and found him eating this, she was disgusted. I am going to have to pop in the movie tonight and remind her that all Elve's eat their pasta this way!

I like the way your DD thinks! I've already told my wife that next time she makes spaghetti I'll be trying at least a little bit with some syrup. She thinks I'm crazy, but it's something that I've at least got to try. I think my daughter will probably give it a try as well. My son and wife won't have anything to do with it.

It might be OK on plain pasta, but not if it already has tomato sauce on it. Remember the look on Emily's face when she's trying the swallow the breakfast that Buddy made her? It looks like she's about to puke!

Well, we had spaghetti tonight, so I went ahead and did it. I hate to say it, but I actually really liked it. It gave a nice sweet taste to the spaghetti that I thought actually accentuated the flavor quite a bit.
The spaghetti had tomato sauce mixed into it (it wasn't heaped on top in a pile, but rather well blended into the spaghetti itself.)

My son also gave it a taste (to his credit, I really didn't think he would even try it), but he didn't like it at all. My wife still thinks I'm crazy.

For all of you who have thought about giving it a go, let me encourage you to at least try it. You might not like it, but who knows, perhaps like me, you might actually enjoy it.

havn't tried that, but did try sorghum syrup on potatos and meatloaf when I was younger after I saw that other movie.
