Does anyone know the status of Spaceship Earth? It's our favorite ride!!

We just returned from WDW Thursday, were there from January 6-16, and the days we hit EPCOT, Spaceship Earth was in operation. The lines were too long for us to give it a go, tried later and same deal, lines too long and it loads slow so we skipped it. Hopes this helps you out.

Does anyone know the status of Spaceship Earth? It's our favorite ride!!

It's one of my favorites too. The current status is that it's up and running (I rode it last month) but they've ripped out or covered up everything in the descent. The first half looks great though, even though the new narration is less than stellar.

With the new spectacular additions to Pirates and the Haunted Mansion compared to SE's botched refurb, Spaceship Earth has now dropped to #3 on my list of favorite rides. Hopefully they'll go back in and finish the descent but I highly doubt it at this point. We'll probably be stuck with the current version for the next 13 years.

My girlfriend and I just got back from a recent trip. We were at Epcot January 8th and 9th.

Spaceship Earth was closed all day on the 8th, and for the first half of the 9th. It opened up about at about 3pm. I'm sure glad we got to ride, it was her first time at WDW!

The CMs out front said that it would be going up and down, and it might close at any time, for any reason. Apparently they're still installing a few more things.
