Spaceship Earth - photo feature not working?

We rode Spaceship Earth yesterday for the first time in awhile (maybe a year?) and while it took our photo at the beginning of the ride, at the end of the ride it just used the cartoon people in the video section and didn't let us choose where we lived or anything.

When we got off, the big map on the wall was just empty and the computer stations in front of it were covered. I know it's cheesy but we always make a ridiculous face and get a good laugh at the end so it was missed.

Has that feature been gone awhile or maybe it was just a malfunction that day? I'm hoping it was just a fluke!

It was not working last year for a long time. There were many complaints on the boards. We were there a few weeks ago and it was working. It must be kind of glitchy. I enjoy it as we always make funny faces.

It's been off and on for at least the past 18 months...sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Ditto what Klayfish said. We rode Spaceship Earth 3 times during our most recent trip in July… it worked once out of the 3 times .

It was working on Thursday night.

We rode on 9/3 or 9/4 (can't recall which) and it worked - again on 9/7 and it did not. Who knows!

I ended up a cartoon person as well, but then I showed up in my son's video on the car behind me. ....I suppose my "future" is going to be confusing. So, what else is new???

I rode it 3x over 2 days when I was there from the 5th to the 11th this month. It didn't work any of those times either.

Well, boo. I was hoping it was an isolated malfunction. Sorry to hear it's more common as I do think it's a fun feature.

I had not heard about this being an issue before, so now I'm even more sad that they took out what had been there before in order to even have that feature. (I'm a big fan of the Jeremy Irons era of the attraction.)
