For our upcoming trip I was unable to get a table for 4+1 for Space220 lounge and we are a party of 5 (2 adults, 1 teen (Disney adult) and 2 kids).

So I had to book:

11:40 am for 1
12:40 pm for 2
12:50 pm for 2

Has anyone been able to request to sit together?

Worst case senerio, we could eat separately but the second group is 1 adult with 3 kids, so I’m hoping they will at least be allowed to sit together.

Who is going to be the single person? For the lounge, children (anyone under 21) need to be with an adult. The two later reservations may be able to go at the same time, but the first is an hour prior, I would not count on them being able to combine all three. It's a pretty popular restaurant.

I’m going to be the single person and ok if I go separately. I’ll ask if they can seat the other 4 together. I’ll also ask at the Poly if they can send a request to the restaurant or move the ADR.

In March I had cancelled my ADR (flight moved up by 3 hours) but the CM at the AOA front desk told me that if I had kept them they could have done something with combining them and moving them up, but they can’t add any guests (not even 1 to a table of 4) because the restaurant is at capacity.

Hope it all works out! Enjoy!

The issue is, there are only a few 4 person tables in the lounge. There are no 5 person tables. They might sit the tables “near” each other, but if someone else has the 4 person table reserved, it likely won’t go to you. Unless they happen to have a no-show.

You may have better luck at other restaurants but every time I've tried to variate from my ADRs at Space 220, I was turned down. No checking in early, no adding guests, etc. Doesn't hurt to ask but don't get your hopes up.

Can you elaborate on variate? Would they not be able to seat 12:40 and 12:50 together?

I tried to modify and coordinate with another diser that let go of a table for 2 at 12:50, and the system still would not add and modify my ADR for 2 to 4 at the exact same time.

I was able to modify my ADR for 1 to 2. So now I have 2+2+2

So 2 of us can go and eat first (so I don’t have to go alone and an adult is with the kids at all times). Then the rest of our party can hopefully go together and eat close by.

OR

I can go with our excited DS6 (11:40 am) and then with DD14 at 12:40 pm (check in early 20 mins; finish quickly); while my spouse goes with the baby at 12:50 pm (check in later) and I can watch DD14 and DS6 old.

We’re going during the busy holiday season so I expect very little to no accommodations.

How are you going to go in at 12:40, eat, pay & be out to relieve your husband at 12:50? Last time we ate dinner there, we were taken inside right about our adr time. We then waited another 5- 10 minutes to be taken “up” to the restaurant.

We booked 4 + 4 for our lounge party of 8 and waited forrrrrrrrreeeeeevvvvvvver to be "taken up" while other large families went right past with dining room reservations. They were waiting for both 4 person lounge tables to become vacant before seating any of us. You may have better luck as I think they have more 2 tops than 4 tops in the lounge

How old is the baby? If super young I'd consider keeping the 1140am and 1250 and one parent takes one kid for each sitting. The baby then skips it this trip.
That’s a good idea actually. And a lot less left to chance. Our youngest will be turning 3 soon.

They can’t accommodate our DS6’s allergies anyway so he will only be getting a drink (gave him fries and a dried microwaved chicken when we went for dinner last Nov). No dessert options other than a berry sorbet which he wouldn’t touch. He ate a few fries and that was it. My birthday dinner - steak was tough and over cooked and missing special order birthday dessert. They took 2.5 hrs so I’m actually forcing everyone to give it another try at the lounge as the rest of the party did like the appetizers. I gave up a Dinner ADR for 5 recently as no one wants to repeat that dismal experience. We received no trading cards despite asking twice (should have gotten 3).

Our now almost 3 year old did love the atmosphere and looking at the dog, astronauts and ‘planes’ and ate off our plate last time.

This is good to know. I don’t know if things have improved as we went when they had only been open for 2 months.

Dinner was a different beast. It took us 2.5 hrs when we went and we missed Harmonious. They had just been open for 2 months.

I did watch some YouTube videos where the lounge had quicker service and they were in and out in about an hour with drinks AND appetizers.

Obviously I’m hoping they would let the 4 people go in together as it does make for a cool experience (we did like the atmosphere, music, view). I could single rider Test Track while they do that :) as hard as that sacrifice is

Oh my gosh, that sounds awful. I’m surprised you even want to try it again. We actually went for dinner on September 30 last year & had a great experience. I sure wouldn’t expect things to get worse in November. I ordered one of the nonalcoholic drinks & got a pack of the cards. We went back on our April/ May trip. We ended up with the same great server. Ordered the lemonade drink again & got a pack of the new series of cards.

I hope things go better for you this time. 🤞🏻

Yes and it was the most expensive meal at $370 for 3 adults and 1 child (we tipped 18%). CRT was cheaper and impressive allergy accommodations (March 2022).

We’ve been to the lounge twice, and been thrilled both times. We’re going to go again over Christmas. I would never do the restaurant though, there’s no way that’s worth the money. The three of us ate at the lounge for the cost of one “dinner” at the restaurant.

I had a 4 + 2, and they couldn't combine them. It was a 2 top and a 4 top.

Confused by these cost complaints, though. We had one drink and some calamari, which I thought were reasonably priced and OK.
