Space Shuttle Launch Viewing Q's

We'll be in Orlando during the next launch (8/27) and are considering viewing the launch from one of the off-site locations.

Has anyone gone to one of these off-site locations? If so, is it worth? How early do you need to arrive before the launch to get a spot?

It gets nuts over here on launch day. The earlier you get over here the better. Like if you were planning on going to Jetty Park, it reaches capacity in the morning. I'm glad I can just watch from work or home. I may be biased, but I think it is worth it.

Where we watch from is fantastic. Well worth the several hour wait.

I would stay in the area the night before. KSC were telling us to tell the guests to leave around 3-4am in order to get to KSC. I would leave about that time in order to get to one of the offsite locations too.
