I have not been on Space Mountain in about 10 years. Thunder Mt is about my capacity for coasters. Is Space Mt. about the same but just in the dark? I'm sure DD age 7 would love it, but I want to refresh my memory about it before I put it on our list! Thanks!

Space whips and jostles you around more than BTMRR. As I've gotten older, my ability to get off Space not feeling sick and dizzy has vanished.

It's very subjective, but I'd say that Space is kind of like BTMRR with your eyes closed. However, Space is a more compact ride, so it twists and turns a lot more. Imagine a wild mouse ride in the dark and that's very much like Space.

I think the difference is the element of the unknown. TMR you can see the turns and hills coming and lean into them. On SM, you have no idea what's next and, at least with me, there's always a voice in the back of my head telling me I'm about to hit my forehead on a beam. That increases the anxiety. It's kinda up to the individual rider to decide if that anxiety is "fun" or not.

I feel they are totally different rides. Space Mountain throws you around a lot more and since it is dark you're not always prepared for it. I feel Big Thunder is a lot smoother.

I'd agree with everyone -- Space is very jerky. I did it a few years ago and my back has never really recovered.
I think it's a lot more intense than BTMR, though, so it' that's your thing it's a good choice. If you're worried about effects, the front and middle are way better to sit in than the back.

Honestly I've done that ride with the lights on, it's far more terrifying that way.

I can't even imagine - ive seen it with lights on (when we were on People Mover) and it looks like a jumble of track upon track, I would be terrified
