WOW.. I just saw a news report that the Euro Disney just revamped Space Mountain.. which makes me think... do you think they will or would ever do anything like that is the USA. I mean Space Mountain is a classic and I love the ride bigtime... but... with that said.. I will admit it would be cool to see an upgrade... this is what the report says about the change...

"Space Mountain Mission II, which opens to the public Saturday, sees the decade-old roller coaster upgraded with new wagons and a faster launch catapult for an even more stomach-wrenching start.

Gone are the old visuals and conscientiously French theme based on Jules Verne's novel "From the Earth to the Moon." Instead, the ride tours the solar system before hurtling out through asteroid showers to skim past supernovas and other astronomical phenomena, portrayed with high-definition video and a host of other new effects.

The launch of the Space Mountain upgrade - pledging to take riders "beyond the moon, to the edge of the universe""

I think it would be very cool to see something like that here in the USA... but I was wondering how others felt about this...

I think it would be cool for them to change Space Mountain just a little bit LOL!!!!! I would ride it to see what they have done if they decide to do something to it!!!!!

The DLRP version was pretty good to begin with, I can't wait to try the new one (...thinking of a quick weekend in Paris to get over the withdrawal after my next WDW trip!).

I wouldn't mind a revamp of the MK ride (as long as the work is done when I'm not visiting at the time)

Paul.

Disneyland's Space Mountain is getting a new look and the new Space Mountain will open this fall. It's been closed for a long time, so I can't wait! :cool1:

I think the Space Mountain in Disneyland Paris sounds so neat. I'm so excited to see the new Space Mountain when I go to Paris in 2007 (such a long ways away!)

I enjoy Space Mountain, but we usually don't ride it more than once or twice per trip because it's so darn jerky-- we prefer Rock n' Roller and Big Thunder.

Having said that, Space Mountain is a classic, and I'd like to see them do a similar sort of redo like the Disneyland version-- keep the same track style, just smooth out some of the jerkiness.

I totally agree with you, my kids love it and I do as well but it is so tough on the back and jerkey. The theme is so fun but a bit of music and a bit less jerkey (I am not even asking for smooth LOL) would be a most welcome change.

I would appreciate this so much I won't even mind if I have to forgo it once during a trip to make it better.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like they are going to hit their head while on Space Mountain!? Since I hadn't been on the ride since I was a kid, I thought that I was going to mind the roller coaster aspect. But no - I was so worried about my head (I'm not really tall or anything!) going through the lit-up tunnels that I kept scrunching down in my seat as far as I could, even though I kept telling myself that no one ever hit their head on the ride. The twists and turns were fine - I guess I was distracted! LOL

I'm in the "it's too jerky" crowd, too. I can take it maybe a couple of times a trip because I love the pre and post ride themeing. But I pay for the experience with a sore neck.
