Any thoughts on these two rides? Do either have any excessive G Force. My daughter is aching to ride them both!

Hi and :welcome: to both DisBoards and disABILITIES!

I will answer your question with several questions. How old is she? What do you consider "excessive" G-Forces? What are the problems she has that a roller coaster is a worry?

In my personal opinion the answer would be no, but I am an adult with good upper body control.

She has had 5 open heart surgeries for a congenital defect. She is prone to arrythmias (atrial flutter) but is on meds for that. She has congenital hip dysplacia and uses a manual wheelchair for long distances but is pretty sturdy from the waist up.

I really don't know what G Force is, her surgeon told her to stay away from rides with excessive G Force.

Thanks for your help.

I would stay away from the Mattahorn, simply becuase of the seating. You sit very low to the floor of the car, and tend to sit between someone elses legs....

One person gets in, and the other person sits directly in front of them....same seat.

The ride is old, jerks you around and should be torn down.

You should be OK with Space Mountain

The bobsleds are far better than space mountain. The bobsleds are partially outdoors and pretty well lit. Both are steel coasters. Bot require the guest to step down into the ride but space mountain you sit side by side and bobsled is lap setting.

The bobsleds are a rougher ride by design and prsonally I would say that Space Mountain would be a lot better.

BOBSLEDS RULE, SPACE MOUNTAIN DROOLS!

Very good discussion on the new upgrades of the bobsleds.

I would advise against both with that many heart surgeries, just my opinion though.

Also, it should be noted that at WDW Space Mountain has the same tack layout as the Matterhorn at Disneyland, but at Disneyland Space Mountain is completely different.

After looking at those new bobsleds, I probably won't be able to ride the matterhorn again if they do put them in :(
They look very similar to the ones at WDW's space mountain and you have longer to get out there without breaking the ride than at the matterhorn and with my knees and long legs I need every second that I can get at WDW's Space Mountain (yes the loading/unloading is different there, but other than that the tracks are the same as Matterhorn)
