OK I have done space mountain at WDW and DL California, but whilst i have been to DLP before, my kids were not tall enough to ride SM2.

Now I have seen the outside, and I read its a bit more like Rock and Roll rollacoaster than the other space mountains.

I have done RNRRC, but, could you talk/post me through the SM2 ride, loops same as RNRRC? How many? soft ride? Kids ok?

Thanks.

I'm hesitant :scared1: but would probably like to know this as well. Since DD will no doubt be dragging either mum or dad on this for her first time in the summer. I'm thinking I'll draw the short straw

Spce Mountain Mission 2 to me seems faster than the original Space Mountain - I actually come off it with my eyes watering (although I don't on Rock N Rollercoaster). I can't tell you how many loops as I'm too busy screaming but suitable for kids...only if they meet the height restriction and you consider them brave.

Whereas on Rock N Rollercoaster you seem to go at full pelt all the way round Space Mountain M2 slows at some points (if theres such a thing as slow on a rollercoaster).

I find it more rattley than Rock N Rollercoaster and the fact you have padding round your ears suggests your head gets bashed a bit more.

If I could only ride one of the two.....bring on Rock N Rollercoaster

I cant remember how many loops etc as i spent most of the ride shouting "sweet jesus" lol.
But i think its a bit more hardcore than RnRRC, I found SM2 very bumpy and head jiggly.

Off the top of my head I think it has 1 loop and a couple of corkscrews. Its goes so fast you can't really tell. It is a lot rougher the RnR though so be warned.

I think it all depends on the kids if they like rough rides.

I have seen the track layout once when they had problems with the ride & all the lights were switched on but for the life of me can't remember the layout.

Thanks for the responses so far, My kids are Disney veterans but this one has eluded them, they have done SM in USA, and rides like Expedition everest, Mission space, and The mummy.

So one loop the loop, then corksrew through? some sharpe bends and falls like USA?

I have been on both SM1 and 2 and i think SM2 is way too slow than SM1, i remembered on Mission 1 the first downhill was so fast it took my breath away and it didn't on SM2 BUT my neck was a lot worse on SM2 than it had been on SM1.
My younger son rode his very first rollercoster last september and it was Mission2, well he said NO MORE rollecoaster for him and we had a job convinving him Big Thunder Mountain was different lol.

My very brave Brian dindt ride SM2 or RNR Coaster but he was ok on Big Thunder Mountain so it's ok for kids LOL
BTW: he is 50 something LOL :rotfl:

My kids love BTM, we were first to the ropedrope one day and became the kings and queens of the ride for the day, first to ride, and in the front seat, with a free photo, then we could go in the 'exit' anytime we wanted, 9 not the fastpass, and ride as many times that we wanted, we did it at least 11 times that day!

I am 50/50 on SM-M2, Nice to read all the posts.

I really like roller coaster but found SM2 a very jarring ride that left me with a headache for most of the day as my head/neck was shaken around alot.

Saying that I would definitely go on it again, but would brace myself a bit more. However, given the choice I would choose Rock n Roller Coaster every time.

  yeah yeah i quote you!!! And the new spinning Crush Coaster was my unfavourate ride of all, it made me feel awful for hours after :scared1:

It starts slowly, suddely you go quicker and find yourself outside waving at people. Then you are in the dark and go up and up and up and suddenly down and down and down in the darkest dark and then you spin, spin, spin :scared1:
Have i been clear :lmao:

How long is the fall in the dark?

For me its way too long :rotfl2: seconds that were as long as hours, it took my breath away, it felt like there was no end.
But this was me, my 21 years old son found it good, my 14 y.o. other son found it just bearable :cool2:
