Space Mountain being turned into a ride, or why Disney is creatively bankrupt

I'm sorry. I didn't know whether to post this in the movies section or the theme park section, but since it was a ride first I am choosing the theme park section. The mods or admins are free to move it.

Wow! Just wow! And I don't mean that in a good way. Another classic Disney ride being turned into a movie. Don't get me wrong, the first time with Pirates it was a fun novelty, and I enjoy the Pirates movies. But Haunted Mansion was mediocre (and strangely, they are making another Haunted Mansion movie), and the newer movies based on rides and attractions haven't been that great. Country Bears and Tomorrowland both bombed. People aren't asking for movies based on rides, but Bob Iger and Bob Chapek don't get that. From a Jungle Cruise film to a Space Mountain film, they just don't get it. To them the rides are just a cash cow and every attraction has to have a movie now, even if the movie might just be mediocre or terrible.

Granted, I get that Disney is a business. I get that they have to make money. But surely they can make a profit without being creatively bankrupt. I miss the days in which Disney rides and attractions could stand on their own, and didn't have to be attached to a movie.

wait until you see the jungle cruise movie. I’m guessing that’s going to be a pretty good movie. Probably see more of the jungle cruise movies like pirates in the Caribbean.
Don’t imagine space mountain being like pirates or the jungle cruise.

It will be interesting to see how they make Space Mountain a movie.
Pirates was much better than expected. To be fair, it really had very little to do with the ride.
Jungle Cruise looks like it could be very good as well.
The original Haunted Mansion movie was terrible.
Agree that Country Bears and Tomorrowland were not good.

....and it doesn't help that Joe Rohde recently announced his retirement....in my opinion, he's a creative genius.

Why is it called "Space Mountain" anyway? There isn't a mountain at all in it. At least with my proposed redesign for Tomorrowland, Space Mountain is themed to Tomorrowland's intergalactic mountain range.

If anything, Alien Encounter needs to be turned into a movie. But they'll probably use S.I.R. instead of TOM 2000, which is a no-go in my book. GIVE TOM 2000 SOME LOVE! HE WAS THE ORIGINAL!

....I just thought of something....referring to the title, isn't Space Mountain ALREADY A RIDE? :scratchin :confused3

If the movie is anything like the video that they show right before the line splits, I'm in. I could watch that on loop for hours.
