My DH(John) and I finished the half marathon. This is our first official half marathon.

I believe I learn new things everytime I go out. This time I learned I have to practice on hills(I do not know where I will find them except for the bridges over the water), and cambers in the road(we don't really have them either)

We did well for a 5k and them my knee started hurting just a little. By the turn around my knee killed me. We slowed down and it started to feel better. At mile marker 10 we started getting the hills again and thankfully I had DH next to me beacause he helped me the rest of the way.
Possibly ITB issue. I have been icing and already have an appointment with the Dr tommorrow.

I was glad to meet other wishers, Tracy, Susie and her DH and Lynn and her DH

Congrats on your first official half marathon!

From a fellow flatlander, parking garages are a good hill substitute as well.

Kathy Congrats on your race. A first race for any distance is always a learning experience. Some stuff goes well, some stuff doesn't. But you always get a PR!

Don't know if you can really "train" for road camber, but I do recommend foam roller for IT Band after every run and also yoga or other exercises for strenghtening and stretching the hip area. One legged balance poses are also good for that.

Hope you're recovering well today and enjoy your accompishment!

We now have our official time of 3:44:39:cool1:

Went to the Dr. and it is tendonitiis not ITB. Exercise and time should mend it.
