Space Coast 1/2?

Anyone ran this before? I've been looking for something to "goal" towards since I Finished Wine and Dine and Princess is too far in the horizon to keep motivated and found The Space Coast 1/2 on Nov 27th

Seems pretty neat esp with the Space Shuttle medals and a Space themed course..

The only hesitancy is parking- Is it much easier to get a hotel room that night and take the host shuttle or could I easily drive from Orlando?

I was going to run it this year, but bumped it back a year or two as I am doing the Daytona Beach Half instead. Looks like a well put together race and my boss has ran the space coast, he enjoyed it and is doing it again this year.

It's only 45-50 minutes from Orlando, and an easy drive too. Go for it!

This looks so cool! I wonder if I could use this as a training run next November (like run the Half) as I prep for the WDW Full in 2013?

DW and I walked the SC 1/2M last year. Lots of off camber which happened to cause a tendinitis problem for DW. She held on to me for much of the last couple of miles. We are going again this November with DD joining in. We stayed in an ocean front complex so I can't give any info on parking. Also did the pasta dinner but once was enough.

Medal is really cool and that is DW's priority.

I might do the full in 2012. With the price of Disney races getting worse and my disgust about their indifference and in some cases outright contempt towards men I've decided to give some other FL races a try and then add in a day or two at Disney.
