Just wondering? If you all take space bags which you suck all the air out of at home with a vacuum, what do you do for the trip home? Do you pack a vacuum or what? Hate to seem but stupid, but i guess i am about this..................

I don't have an answer, but I have wondered the exact same thing. I have seen the comericals and said to my DH, what good are thye if you get it down there, but can't get it sucked back up to go home? How do you do that? To pack a sweeper seems to defeat the purpose. Are you to ask housekeeping for there sweepers. And alot of those kind don't have hoses on them. :confused3

I purchased some bags from a camping store that don't require the vacuums. They have one-way air valves at the top of the bag and they zip at the top. You can just stuff as many things as possible in them (they come in different sizes), zip them up, and then roll them starting from the top end. The valves at the bottom end release any air inside and create a vacuum seal. You can reuse them as many times as you like.

I just rolled them - sat on a couple. :)

What you really have to watch with space bags is weight. When you're suddenly packing twice as much into the suitcase, it's very easy to go above-weight. If you're using them to save space, not bring extra, you could use a smaller suitcase. I didn't think about that on our first trip and DD and I wound up having to pull several heavy items out of the checked luggage and carry them on in addition to our usual stuff, which was no fun.
