My kids are DYING to go to Space 220. They are actually older teens (17 and 19) with autism and are super picky eaters and won't touch anything on the dinner menu. Assuming I can't get a lunch reservation and we go at dinner time:

Do they HAVE to eat if we get a reservation for the 3 of us? Can *I* just eat and pay the charge for one? Or is it like character meals where everyone pays regardless?

If we go at lunch, can I just order a full meal and get them a dessert, since the desserts are not included in the lunch prix fixe?

The lounge has an a la carte menu. We got a drink and an appetizer. The lounge sounds like a better fit.

If you pay for the meal, it's not like they are going to make you eat it.

It's a prix fixe meal, so everyone will be charged regardless if they eat or not. I would just try to get a reservation for the lounge. You are not forced to do the prix fixe menu and can order whatever you want. You also get a better view of the scenery since the lounge is elevated above the restaurant seating.

Another vote that the lounge would probably be a better fit. Just ate in the lounge again a few weeks ago. I was with friends. My friend and I ordered off the lounge menu while her husband ordered a prix fixe meal. They definitely then shared from the full meal as well as her lounge offering. The nice thing with the lounge is that not everyone has to order from the lounge or full menu.

One more vote for the Lounge! Both for the flexibility in food choices and for the view. The only other option I would consider in your case would be standing in line for the bar itself, but I suspect that wouldn't be practical for your family. I would not book the Restaurant because there you'd have to pay for dinner for each of you.

I agree with the others - make a reservation for the lounge so you have the flexibility of ordering a la carte, prix-fixe or even just drinks if you would like. I've done both the lounge and the prix-fixe and, while I enjoy both, the lounge simply offers more flexibility for those in your party who may not want a large meal.

Oh, so ordering off the full menu is an option at the lounge? I didn't personally find the posted lounge menu to sound very good. My kids would only eat the burger (if they can make it plain) and the desserts. I don't care where we sit. They just want to go up there. So, the lounge is more flexible, it seems like.

Thanks everyone! I will try for a lunch reservation and a lounge reservation on a different day if possible just so we have options.

You probably could not find the Lounge Menu because it has it's own webpage to make ADR on and to see menu. Make sure you are on the correct page when you try to reserve.

Yes, the lounge gives you the choice. You can either order from the lounge menu or the full menu. And not everyone at the table has to make the same choice.

That's perfect! Thank you so much for this information!

I did see that menu. I was on that page. If that's the ONLY food you can order in the lounge, that won't work for us. But if we can order off the full restaurant menu, it will!

To clarify, in the Lounge each person has the choice of ordering the full prix fixe meal (not individual components but the full meal) or from the a la carte lounge menu. But then those in the party can switch items around between and among them.

Got it. I'd probably order the full prix fixe meal and my kids would just get dessert and non alcoholic drinks.

No that is not the only food, but that is all the food the Lounge offers different from the Prix Fixe meal. As everyone has said you can order from that menu OR the FULL PRIX FIXE meal if you have a Lounge reservation. There are no minimum requirements in the Lounge. You can even just order drinks.

But if you are seated in the restaurant you can not order off the Lounge menu. You can only choose from the Prix Fixe menu and everyone will be charged full price.

Got it. But I assume at lunch time in the lounge, we can order desserts since those are priced separately, right?

I'd also like to know if you can just order dessert at lunch in the lounge. I'm in a similar spot with DS10- won't eat anything on the adult or lounge menu. He'll have a meal somewhere else and a fun drink at Space 220.

I ordered dessert with my lunch reservation in the lounge in September. I did eat an appetizer before ordering my dessert.
