Yes, cabana massages are still offered on Castaway Cay and they book up quickly, arrive early at the spa to reserve one. I actually prefer the massages on the ship, they last longer. And when you get a massage at CC it takes time away from the fun you could be having on the island. If you do decide to get one on CC be sure to ask the masseuse to REAPPLY sunscreen to your back after the massage, or you will fry.
On the ship I like the Absolute Face & Body Treatment (my favorite by far), the hydrotherapie bath and the seaweed wrap.
Originally posted by Jennigator3 I really wanted to get a message when on my cruise in March. Do they still offer Cabana Massages? Which spa treatments are the best ones to get?
I just got back It was so great!!! I got the spa taster, a massage and facial...fantastic!! I also got my hair cut and styled for my first night , we went to Palos....a definate must!! Nassau wasn't so great so I would reccomend staying on the ship and doing the spa...I have heard lots of people complain about the Cabana massage taking away from your time on CC and also being oiled up and sandy...I just couldnt get enough of CC it was so beautiful and Serenity Bay was just what it's name implies!
We got our cabana massages at 2:00, after we had had our fun with the water, sun and the sand. We were very ready for the massage! (Plus, it started to rain right as the massage started...perfect timing!) Afterwards, we just took our time getting back to the ship, stopped in the shop, etc.
I had the Spa Taster. I have had better massages at a cheaper price, but regardless, you cannot beat the atmosphere. It was worth it! My DH traded in part of his leg massage (I think he had leg, back and shoulder/scalp combo) for an extended scalp massage. Needless to say, he was a very happy person! Just beware...at $115 a pop, plus a tip, it can be the priciest portion of your cruise!
I also had a manicure on our Nassau day. Aretha did a great job! She even got me to buy a bottle of cuticle oil with out me really knowing it!
Be sure not to book the first appointment of the day. It takes quite a while to get over to Serenity Bay where they do these massages. And if you have 3000 people clogging the stairwells ahead of you trying to get off the boat, you can easily be late.
