I am thinking of surprising DD19 with a spa day (or hour or two) on our upcoming trip. From what I can gather, there are 3 hotels on property that have spas: Grand Floridian, Saratoga Springs and the Dolphin. Is this right? The one at the Dolphin appears to be the nicest. I am looking for some "atmosphere" and somewhere we can relax and pamper ourselves for a few hours. Any suggestions/ideas? How about prices? Is one more reasonable than another? Any discounts i.e. AAA, AP, etc.? TIA!

I had an amazing hydro-therepy massage at the spa at SSR. It was awesome and somewhat unique. I thought the spa at SSR was nice and think you and your daughter would enjoy it

Can anyone give me a few details on what the spa itself is like? Can you just hang out there for awhile in the saunas, etc.?

I did a half-day spa experience about 10 years ago when SSR was the Disney Institute. It really was a wonderful experience. When your treatment was over, you could go to the saunas and hot tubs for as long as you liked.

I checked it out a couple of years ago and had sticker shock. The price had more than quadrupled. I paid $139.00 plus tax/tip back in 97. A similar experience is now over $500

The other deluxe resorts (Boardwalk, Yacht/Beach) have smaller spas with a few services that are a lot less expensive. I think you could have a couple of items done for under $200 there.

I have had two great sessions at the Mandara Spa at the Dolphin. It is a beautiful facility, and the couples massage room is one of the most romantic and relaxing places I have ever been in.

The GF Spa is not great. The spa treatment rooms are small, the spa therapists are ok at best and I found the staff to be frankly rude.

The Disney Institute used to have a fantastic spa, and I read a recent article that rated the Spa at Saratoga Springs as the best in Orlando. I have not been to it though.

My experience has been so good with the Mandara Spa, that it would take a heck of a good discount to get me to go anywhere else.

does anyone know if the boardwalk has a spa? i'd like to have a spa treatment, but I don't want to hotel hop to get one. that would take the relaxing part out of it for me.

Hmmm. Interesting. I was leaning towards going there because the pictures look so nice--just what I'm looking for.
