:surfweb: I am planning our 08 trip to the world for July and the trip will coincide with my wife's birthday. I would like to get her a spa treatment/package of some sort and was wondering if I could get some info, :confused3, feedback on experiences good:hippie: and bad:scared1: so that I could plan something special for my wife.
Thanks for your help:banana:
We will be staying at CSR

I have used the GF spa several times and never had an issue. I have had treatments and a massage. They also have a spa at the SSR and at the Dolphin called the madara spa.

What a great idea - she'll love it! I've had a massage at the Grand Floridian spa and it was wonderful. I've gotten countless massages over the years and the GF ranked right up there at the top. The building is beautiful, too! Here are several links that might help you out in your planning:

The spa at the GF is run by Niki Bryan and they have a separate website w/ info and rates. The link is: http://www.relaxedyet.com/ Just click on locations and you'll see the GF and Saratoga Springs listed. According to her website, it looks like they do have spa services at Coronado Springs, but I've never used them.

Here's the official page from the Disney website: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/moreMagic/moreMagicGolfLanding?id=SpaLandingPage

There is also the Canyon Ranch spa at Gaylord Palms. If you don't have a car, it might be more difficult to get to, but I've heard it's really good.

Enjoy!

I would not suggest the GF Spa. it's over priced and they use so-so products anymore. The waiting area is often over crowded so people are left standing (who wants to stand in a crowded room while trying to relax?!), and IMHO it's highly over priced for the quality of services and products they provide.

At Mandara the surroundings are far nicer, the treatment list is much more inclusive. Canyon Ranch is also in the same price range, but the facilities are amazing, and their treatment products are amazing. And they make a ritual out of a manicure like no one else can.

If you've got a car, Canyon Ranch is my first choice.

Another option if you want to take a 35 minute drive up the Greenway is Fawnfeather Spa in Longwood. They are consistently named the best day spa in the area, and their prices are a good 20-30% lower than the Disney area spas.

Canyon Ranch, the WDW Spas, and Mandara all charge in the $120 range for a 50 minute massage. I'm having a 50 minute hot stone massage at FawnFeather tomorrow for the same price. (Thanks to a gift certificate I won in a charity raffle. :cool1: :thumbsup2 )

We stay at the CSR and every time we go, I take Friday morning as "my" time and I get a massage. I have always ended up feeling relaxed and great afterwards and ready to go for another week (if only the cash would hold up that long!). It is the LaVida Health Club at 407/939-3030. I get a 50 minute aromatherapy massage and it was $105 in September when we were there. Your wife will love it.

P.S. I did get a massage at the Grand Floridian back in 2004 when we took our oldest son and his girlfriend for his high school graduation. I treated the girlfriend and me to a massage--we had to do it together in connecting rooms because she was only 17. It was a bit pricier than the Coronado.
