My husband just told me that he wanted to treat me to a spa treatment while at SSR next month as part of my valentine's gift. Can anyone give me feedback on the spa experience? This would be my first spa experience and I'm a little nervous about it and am not sure what treatment would be best. Thanks.

I only did a small one in December at SSR but it was wonderful! I had a pedicure with the DVC discount. The spa is very nice and you wait in a room with refreshments, fruit, tea,etc..before and after your treatment. There is a sauna and jacuzzi you can use and a workout room. It smells great in the spa and it really relaxed me. You'll love it! There are quite a few treatment options and packages so pick one that you really want to try.

My wife and I went for Food & Wine last October and got to sneak away without any of our 4 kids so we tried to do a lot of special things that trip that we couldn't do with kids such as the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK and getting a massage at SSR.

We did the couples massage. We went to a larger than normal room together that had this big funky looking bath tub. I got on the table for a 50 min massage with one girl while DW got in the tub in a bikini for a water massage where they have this long hose with a controlable waterjet and another girl goes mostly over your legs and back while you roll around for them in the big tub of warm water. Then we switched places. I did enjoy it but would probably not do that particular one again, I think I'd rather either try something different with the massage or 2 hrs woud be A_W_E_S_O_M_E!!

Ive done the SSR spa three times. My husband gets me a treatment each trip (thats 1 per year and I dont have any other spas to compare it too)

1st Reflexology
2nd Swedish massage
3rd Mystical Forest Therapies

I enjoyed all of these. If I had to choose only one to do again it would be the mystical forest.

The 50 mins was awesome but the 80 mins would be heaven.

I would like to try the firm pressure massage.

The treatment rooms are quiet, dim and so relaxing.

Im sure you will enjoy any treatment :cloud9:

I've only been to two spas, the one at SSR and the one at the Grand Californian (Disneyland Resort). By way of contrast, the Spa at SSR is very white and sterile in appearance, where the one at the Grand Californian has lush wood accents (it's run by Mandara), and is much warmer and cozy.

I enjoy getting pedicures, and have one scheduled for my next WDW trip in May. If you're at all hesitant, I would suggest you start with something simple, like a pedicure. If you're wearing long pants and can't roll up the legs, they'll give you a robe to wear.

My DH said he just read somewhere that it is one of the top 10 in the country. I was suprised but it should make for a magical experience. You have a good time. I recommend a facial, they are so relaxing you may fall asleep!:cloud9:

Oh, definitely do it!! They are so used to people of all different comfort levels and accomodating for all types. My husband and I had massages there (seperately) and I had a pedicure as well. When I was done, I was so ready to try a few other things!! I really think you will enjoy it!
