My 7 year old nephew is allergic to milk. They are going to WDW in October. I have seen all the help Disney provides to make sure that there are foods everyone can eat. It is very reassuring to me and my sister. However I was wondering does anyone know if they have any soy ice cream (Tofutti etc) at the parks? It would be so nice for him to be able to enjoy ice cream at the same time as his brother.

Thanks for any help!

I do not remember seeing any except while we ate at 1900 Park Fare. I know the chef brought it out to one of the tables near us. You might call and ask a CM.

YES!!! My DD (old milk allergy, now outgrown!) has eaten it many, many times. It is only at the table service restuarants. It's best to tell the CM when making your reservation about the allergy and they will give you a number to call a week before to speak with the chef. I have called and sometimes I haven't. It's never been a problem. Also, when you check in for dining remind the hostess, they will note it and tell the chef to come speak with you. They will advise as to what he can eat and make special things if needed. They are great with it.

EDIT: I just reread your post. I guess you meant getting it at icecream stands. And, no, I've never seen that. But both my DD's prefer getting the Itakadoozle or the strawberry popcicle over icecream, so it wasn't a problem for us. Good luck!

Thanks!! Now I know my nephew will have a great trip in every possible way!! :cool1: Isn't it silly how one thing like ice cream can make such a big difference!!!!

Like others have mentioned no for the carts but yest for the restaurants. My dd also just has a popsicle type treat at the carts and looks forward to the kaki gori in Japan at Epcot WS.

Don't know if you have seen this page but its has great info on dietary restrictions and allergies at WDW:

I've never seen soy ice cream available but pineapple Dole Whips are dairy-free! :cloud9: One of the very few desserts my DD can safely eat in WDW. Too bad they're only available at the MK, though.
