Souvenir question

1. I am a teacher and would like to bring home something for my class, any ideas of an inexpensive, but nice souvenir--approximately 36 kids


2. Can anyone tell me of an awesome souvenir they have purchased that would be the perfect remembrance of what I am sure will be a perfect trip? something that I could display always and does not scream disney????

1. Its not something that each kid would take home with them to KEEP, but you could consider a CLASS gift, like a Mr. Potato Head that you can get in a lot of the toy stores there. You get a box and whatever mix-and-match pieces you chose to put in it. You could get one head and tons of different pieces (they have all sorts of Disney themes pieces like Mickey ears, Mickey balloons to hold, Googy hats, Minnie shoes, etc.) and you'd have a daily reminder of your trip with the head sitting on your desk and all the kids could have fun changing it around. I'm not sure what ages your kids are, but even older ones would love that fun distrcation! Just a though.

My daughter's friend brought back all the class members last yr one of the small(think 1 in by 1 in) square washcloths. Once you unwrap and wet them, they spread out. You can get them in different themes for boys or girls. i think they are around $1.

We got mickey shaped straws for her friends. They were about $1 at the POR food court.

I brought back a Cinderella waffle iron. I like it b/c we don't see it everyday. It is a nice reminder when we use it. I think there is also a Mickey one. I also brought back a Tinkerbell cookie jar for my Mom. I wish I had gotten one of those too! It is Tink, looking miffed, while sitting on a pink rose. It is pretty cute. Dh got a Mickey watch. He only wears it occasionally but it makes him smile when we looks at it.

I like the idea of a class gift too!

Wow, 36 kids is alot!!! I don't know what your school will allow but we've always brought home bags of Mickey shaped pretzels and crackers for my kids little friends. It would be nice if you could take some video on your vacation that would be specific to your class. You know....talking to your class on the video and showing them different things at the parks or maybe your favorite things. We've even filmed some of the rides as we were riding them to bring home and show other family members or for us to remember the ride. Then you could buy some large bags of the Mickey shaped pretzels (about $2.50/bag) and maybe some other Disney snacks like Mickey shaped cheeze crackers (like goldfish), etc. If you were allowed to, you could watch the video that you made and have your Disney snacks with the kids. I think that would be a nice way to share your vacation experience with your class and they would love the snacks and the down time from doing schoolwork.

I love the idea of bringing something back to your class!! I think it would depend on the age of the kids. The pretzels etc are a great idea and so is the sharing of the video. They have wonderful Salt Water Taffy in Goofy bags and boxes that you could add and make it a party affair!!

If you are staying at a WDW resort, you could ask for some "extra" soaps. The room soap is imprinted with Mickey and the wrapped in Mickey paper. Each day you get new ones. Our DD loved the soap so much we asked for extra and the maid was more than happy to share.

ANother idea is the Pin Trading. Buying a new pin will run you upwards of six to ten bucks each or more. However, I bought a group of pins (about fifty, I think) off of Ebay before our trip for about fifty dollars, so a dollar a pin. Once we were there I bought a lanyard for myself and DD and we traded away. I returned with all new pins, ones that we had chosen and did not pay any more for them then my original Ebay cost. If your kids are old enough you could do that and give them each a pin.

I bought my DD a Precious Moments figurine that is of a little girl with Cinderella and her castle. It was about fifty dollars at the Jewerly store on Main Street USD in MK. There are six Disney figurines that are only supposed to be sold at the parks. We love ours and it is a wonderful reminder and will be a family treasure.

Also, the photo of my DD with CInderella at the Castle. Another item I will always treasure and it brings on the memories big time. I bought a few pieces of inexpensive jewlery, earrings etc and I wear them all the time. I have a mickey bracelet that did not cost a lot, but I love to wear it. It makes people ask me about it and then I get to talk about our trip!!

Have fun shopping. Oh, the Christmas decorations are wonderful. Try to get one or two personalized. I suggest going to the Christmas shop in the MK, not the one in Down Town Disney, if you want to get personalization done. THe one in MK was same day pick up, but in DOwn Town it was several weeks. They do have a much bigger selection though.

I bought a beautiful picture frame with small mickey heads in each corner and unless you really look at the frame you don't' even know they're there. As far as gifts for your class they have so many nice things that don't cost a lot like note pads, pens, pencils, and stickers. You would be able to give them things that are useful and nice.

Let's see..I know when we go to Disney I always bring back a teahers gift..it's usually pens or pencils and note pads. They sell pens in packs of 6 I believe..DTD has so much to choose from. The best thing we brought back was framed picture of us on Splash Mountain, it's priceless, because at that time it was just my family on the ride and our faces are amazingly funny! Every year we go back I get an updated one to put in the frame, the frame is the one that I purchased to match the ride

We brought our youth group these cool flashing lightup keyring like things. They were around 4.00 each which is fairly cheap when dealing with teenagers. And the lady gave us little boxes, tissue paper stickers and bags to put them in.

Also, I love the special frames for pictures, that is the type of item I am looking for

I had 2 questions...how old are the kids and is this for the kids to have or for the classroom?

My kids have (oldest is now 8) absolutely love having the pressed pennies. I have gotten them myself from the places I went before I had kids and they have those in their collection too. They cost you 51cents each.

If this is for the class and they are old enough to 'get' it a pressed penny book and pennies from each of the countries might make a cute thing to have in the class. they each have stuff like a building or flag or whatever representing the country.

Okay I know the pennies are cheapy but we like them.

You can also buy chocolate coins that come wrapped in character paper, they have Toy Story, Princess and the classics.
