well since we are flying now i didn't consider:scared1: what we will do with all our souvenir's for our return flight home....
any suggestions??
should i have them mailed to my house?
I am traveling with 4 kids so i want to try and NOT carry too much stuff through security....my kids are 6 years old and under

I bought one of those re-usable shopping they sell at DTD. I did exceed the carry on bag limit on the flight home but no one said anything. I plan to bring it back for an upcoming trip...I have panned my packing a little better since I am not going at Christmas I should not exceed bag limits this time around.

The last time I went as a family (with my parents and 2 siblings), we easily spent $1500 or more on souvenirs.

We had two GIANT boxes of dirty laundry & souvenirs. The BC had them mailed back to us at home, it probably took about a week.

It doesn't matter how good of a packer you are, it all comes undone during your trip, and nothing ever fits the way it did, lol.

I'm not sure which carrier you're flying with, since Southwest has the 2 luggage pieces per person... but DH and I have a collapsible Adidas gym bag which we pack in our regular luggage for extra souvenirs, etc. We really don't need TWO big luggage pieces per person, so we always have that option of checking a 2nd bag on the way home.

Those bags squish in the middle, but have a bottom board that will fold onto itself, so you can easily place it in with your luggage on your way down.

ETA: I'd advise that you still carry-on anything that you thing can be broken in transit. But, dont forget to use your clothes, for packaging materials if you do check it!

Thank you!!
We are flying Jet Blue and i believe they only alway 1 bag to check in (FREE) and 1 carryon per person...
I guess what i can do is, when I am finally packed to leave NY i can see who isn't carrying a carry on and then use a duffle bag for the gifts and DH will carry that....:rotfl:
