I have found that with kids, if you tell them a certain amount that they can spent, or if you give them a gift card, they seem to do extremly well, and only buy what they really want. Also if they are old enough to understand, tell them in advance that they can look around everywhere and at the end of your stay, you will get it, that way they can see everything. And get what they like the very best. DownTown Disney usually has everything the parks have. And a t-shirt, a stuffed animal, and a autograph book and a pen are a must for the kiddies.
