anyone have any experiences witht his airline to Orlando?
Are the seats comfy?
do they serve food? I have an 830 am flight
is the plane nice and roomy?

IS IT SAFE???

Not to Orlando but have flown SW many times. Seats are comfy, its pretty basic though, a no-frills airline.

Good luck!

Plenty of experience both to MCO and other places for work.

The seats are no more comfy or non-comfy than any other 737

They serve snacks (last time we got Wheat Thins and Peanuts) and soft drinks. Beer Wine and other Adult beverages are available to purchase

See above for an answer to roominess ;)

TOTALLY safe.

Just get to the airport nice and early so you can get an A or B boarding pass, so you can get a good seat.

HAVE FUN!!! I'm jealous

We always fly SW from Manchester to Orlando. As binny said it is a no frills airline. They give you a little snack pack. Not alot. They have beverage service.

A note though, they have a no reserved seat policy. This means the earlier you get to the airport the better your chances of sitting together and where you want.

I'm leaving my house to get to the airport for 8:00 am and my flight isn't until 11:15. Just better to be safe than sorry.

We fly Southwest from Albuquerque to Orlando, it's the only airline that offers a direct flight. I don't know if it's the airline or the airport, but we've never had a delay with them, like we do if we fly American. Everything everyone else said is true. One thing I don't like about SW is that they don't allow you to bring your pet in the cabin. Probably not an issue for you, but you never know.

we always take SW to Orlando from Baltimore. Non stop flight, lots of flights, good fares. Only downside is no assigned seating. Get to airport at least 2 hours in advance, so you will be in the first boarding group (most likely!).

Our next trip is on AirTran <sigh>. Only because we have $900 credit coming to us and we need to use it up or lose it.

We have used Southwest several times to go to Orlando. It is a comfortable flight but there is no food service other than peanuts. There is no assigned seating and so you get your seat based on when you board. Boarding is assigned based on when you check in and so if you are there early, you can be in the first boarding group which helps in getting overhead bin space.

Southwest is great. It has one of the best on-time records in the airline industry. And they are very safe. I have flown SW to MCO several times as well as all over the country. Becasue of no reserved seating, getting there early is key. I have seen passengers who absolutely hate flying SW because of the no frills aspect. As long as you know and accept going in that it is no frills, you won't have a problem. You may actually want to pay attention to the flight attendents when they give their safety brief also. Many times, the crew has personalized the shpeil a little. Very amusing at times!

We love flying Southwest, but only on non-stop flights. Connections can be a nightmare with Southwest what with having to do the boarding pass shuffle again.

Only fly with SWA now.....they are no frills but who cares, the entertainment from the crew more than makes up for it! They have always been great to DCherubs and even me when I started crying out of fear of flying in November 2001-----Even when people get the C boarding passes I have never seen an issue of them not being able to sit together---crew kind of announces that there is a family and someone has always accomadated! Great airline great crew!

I remember on my last business trip, I was connecting through BWI, and had to do the dreaded boarding pass shuffle again. Well, I got a C. And the gate agents were also being funny, and telling all of us in C, that C stands for Center Seat, since everyone else chooses an aisle or a window. :teeth:

And yes, I did get a center seat.

I agree with this! On our last flight to Orlando, the crew was hilarious. On take off, we all had to put our hands in the air and practice for the amusement park rides. On landing, we all "had to" put our feet on the ground and help the pilot stop the plane. It was so corny and funny. "Mickey is waiting for you, help stop the plane - quickly, quickly, the pilot needs your help, lol.":)

Like everyone says they are a great crew! On our way home in October we had a toilet paper race.

They are the best, very friendly! Just arrive early!

Enjoy,
Lisa
